The illegal immigrants are flowing into the USA because they want better lives, better jobs, and some rights they do not receive in their own country. After annexation, all Mexican citizens would be U.S. citizens (savings lots of paperwork and Guest Worker diatribes), eligible for many government programs including Social Security, along with being able to earn the minimum wage which is far above what they get from their employers under the Mexican government. The United States gave Mexico about $69 million in 2006, which is a pittance compared to the unfathomable amounts sent to Colombia and Peru, $561 million and $146 million respectively. Channeling about half of that aid from just those two countries would give Mexico a real boost to begin to rebuild their infrastructure and business climate. The work ethic of the Mexican population is legend, and with good wages the economy would be booming in short
Illegal immigration has increased throughout the years, in 2007 there was 38 million, which is about one-third of the U.S. population, which is about 310 million individuals .Illegal immigration will continue to grow, currently we have 310 million people but by 2060 this will rise to 468 million, which is a 56% increase. Illegal immigrants come from all over the world, but more come from Latin and South America looking for jobs, a better future, education, new business, better pay, health insurance, a better life than what they are accustomed in their native country. Although people may come from different parts of the world to the United States, this also affects American population because we will never have an accurate number of illegal
Discussion Subject: Which criminological theory do you think best explains why people commit crimes? I am going to choose the illegal aliens in this country, since we all do know it is a crime. Because of economical empowerment in this country, it is easy to see why you have so many illegal aliens in this country. Like any other human being, you are looking for a better future for yourself and your family. To be born into poverty and depression in a 3rd world or economical depressed country because of politics, war, or considered 2nd class this will entice you very easily to want to be in the United States of America.
The first thing could be getting tickets which would hurt me in the pocket book which I couldn’t afford and second result could be jail/prison. I go there to see my husband because he has not obey the law before and I don’t want to live the way he has to so I obey the laws. We also obey laws because we all benefit from them. Protection of life and property, security of peace, welfare, etc. I don’t steal because I don’t want to be stolen.
Although police officers stand for peace, there are many countries where people view police not as the hero but as the villain. Even in safe, developed countries like Canada and the United States, acts of police misconduct have occurred. For these reasons, police officers should not be allowed to carry firearms. Eliminating guns won’t eliminate police misconduct; however it will take some power away from them but that can be good because they will also be gaining power this way. It sounds confusing but when people see a man with a gun, no matter what side of the law he is on, they will get intimidated and possibly fear him.
If immigrants try to actually be part of a new country, they sometimes forget about where they were born and where they grew up. When they get depressed or have any trouble it is very helpful to have someone, from their native country, to call. Also, having some good remembers is really good in order to avoid or overcome a depression caused by being lonely. Also there is a fact that immigrants that try to become a new member of a new culture will never be able to change and that is where they were born, or in other words their native country. Trying to completely assimilate an unknown culture might be very risky for some reasons.
Running Head: BORDER PORTECTION AND IMMIGRATION Border Protection and Immigration Eric R. Kloss Excelsior College Border Protection and Immigration Americans live in a country where freedom is taken for granted, and not appreciated. Most Americans do not know the cost of freedom and are unwilling to contribute to keeping America free. Americans forget the price that so many have paid to keep America free. I feel that immigration and border security is one of the main issues associated with terrorists and the smuggling of illegal goods, and equipment into America. Changes must be enforced instantly in order to stop this illegal entry into America.
But the US govt. has made its stance very clear that it won’t stop these attacks as they are effective against terrorism. But this has been wrong move on US government’s part as the drone attacks which have resulted in killing of innocent people has led to the creation of more terrorists. It has been seen that those whose relative were
My parents teaching this to me impacts society because I didn’t take from society and I didn’t want to harm something I was productive member of. We should all obey the law. There are laws out there that we may thing are just plain dumb. In order to have balance. Those who rob and steal lose harm society.
Some of us obey laws because benefit from them. Protection of life and property, security of peace, welfare, etc; You don't steal because you don't want to be stolen. You obey laws in expectation of others thinking and doing the same. If this theory is right then it means you only need laws when you possess something. "So what could be the reason why a person, who has always lived as an outcast and possesses nothing, has to obey the laws knowing he/she would gains a lot by violating them?"
