Reflecting on your practise is important as it can help you to focus on what you have done well and identify areas you may need to improve I.e. It may make you consider new approaches or make you consider learning more or beginning new courses in relevant subjects. You can use reflective practice to improve the quality of the service you provide by thinking about a task you previously completed and asking yourself: What could have been done better? & how will I do that task next time? 1.3.
Patients may be forced to stay off work which will lead to a loss of earnings putting more stress on the individual and their families, possibly leaving a patient needing treatment for depression. Also the patient would have the stress and worry of passing on the infection to loved ones. All of these will lead to a loss of trust in in the organisation. Worse case death could occur. 007-4.1 Define the term risk.
P2- Potential effects of life factors and life events on the development of an individual. Genetic Asthma-Adolescence Asthma could affect Kate physically because she might not be able to exercise as much and do activities that involve a lot of exercise because of her getting out of breath and having to take breaks to prevent an asthma attack. Asthma could affect Kate intellectually because she could miss out on important learning if she is at doctors’ appointments or if she has an asthma attack and has to leave school, and she could miss out on important information that could affect her grades in the future. Asthma could affect Kate socially because she may not get to see her friends as much as she would like because of activities that involve exercise such as swimming.
It might also mean that they cannot perform their daily activities in the health care setting. This can also make them feel unable because they cannot be dependent on going to the toilet themselves 1.2 Continence depends on properly functioning muscles and nerves in and around the rectum and anal canal. Any condition that interferes with these complex mechanisms may result in incontinence. Examples of events or conditions that can affect continence include: * childbirth, * constipation, * diarrhea, * irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), * inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), * pelvic or anal surgery, * neurological disorders or injuries, and * radiation treatments for certain cancers. Task B Why is reflective practice important? Reflective practice is important as it allows us to build on our strengths and identify our weaknesses. In doing this we can develop ourselves further and in turn this will reflect on the support we give to our colleagues’ and service users. Also by assessing our actions and judgements we can gain more knowledge and be receptive to different strategies or approaches. Overlooking an event afterwards and questioning yourself not as a criticism but in a way to develop yourself further.
This goal can be set back when other factors exist. Attitudes are negative or positive thoughts that are the influenced by one’s perception of behavior, social events, objects or groups. When developing teams it is important to focus on the attitudes of the team members and manage those attitudes so they can positively influence the team. Team members who have skepticism about the outcome of the new program are exhibiting attitudes of negativity. This negativity can adversely affect the ability of a team to accomplish its goals.
Members of the team have confidence in themselves and have a positive attitude; this only motivates them to achieve the common plan and purpose. | The team maybe letdown when they are unable to accomplish small success, which could affect their ability to complete larger goals. Should team members lack vital skills, this may inhibit the team from being as successful as they thought. | Mental modelsTeam share the same vision on how the work will be completed | Successful team has collectively shared their vision, knowledge and how the work will be accomplished. Involving team members in discussion on their perspectives and expectations will help build agreement with the group and provides an accurate mental model.
Think of an example from your workplace. As above ...When I’m doing my voluntary placement I have a duty of care towards my work colleague. We must always be in pairs and never leave the other alone as it is in a mental health environment and can be dangerous. If i was to leave my partner alone she would then be vulnerable and could be subject to harm. It could also work the other way too that the service user may come to harm at the hands of my partner while I’m not there.
Unfortunately, if an individual is choosing to become homeless there are often much bigger, darker rooted problems. For example, an individual in an abusive domestic relationship may choose to leave their home without a place to go for fear of their own safety. I believe it is important that an individual has the ability to maintain autonomy in knowing that when circumstances such as these arise society has adequately prepared to help. Such help may include shelters for victims of domestic abuse and transition homes so that self-improvement may be encouraged. Unfortunately poverty and homelessness are so intertwined that those who find themselves living on the streets often enter a vicious cycle that may inhibit self-improvement and according to Mills may then affect the general welfare of
Having a fear of failure can cause a person to lose a great deal of their quality of life. This phobia challenges its victims by not allowing them to try most new things, not to advance in their career, and sometimes the symptoms can affect a relationship. I have a fear of failure because I have a difficult time in pushing myself forward to achieve goals and I like to "play it safe" by not taking risks and staying inside my comfort zone. I have many reason why I am an atychiphobia. I have a fear of failure because of some events that took place during my childhood.
