How Toys Affect Children

“I bet my scooter can go faster than yours!” shouts Alyse as she races her twin sister, Amy, on their new electrical scooters. They used to go out and race with their regular scooters, but ever since Christmas when they got their new ones, their old scooters have been in the garage collecting dust. When toys are improved into something better, the old versions of them are forgotten and hardly ever used again. Kids are always looking for the newest toys because they want the newest and coolest things. They always want to be accepted, and not be the “loser” without the most recent toy. New electronic toys do not allow children to use their imagination as much as a toy without electrical characteristics would. The new toys can keep kids entertained for a longer amount of time. Toys are something kids will never get bored with because they are changing them everyday. Faster, smaller, and electronic are all qualities of recently invented toys. Toys also affect the way children use their imagination. By making toys faster, it will keep the children more entertained. They cannot focus on one thing for a long time without getting bored. Therefore, toy makers decided to make them faster, which will keep the kids busy and they will enjoy it longer. Most kids wouldn’t want to be hanging out with their friends, and have a race with their toys if their toy was going to be slow. Most of them would only want to race if their toy was going to be fast. That is why toy makers decided to make the toys faster. Toy makers also started to make toys smaller. All kids want to bring their new toys wherever they go. If the toys are large and not easy to bring places, parents are not going to let their kids bring the toy with them and their kids will be extremely upset. Therefore, the toy makers made toys more convenient for everyone. Parents will allow their kids to take smaller toys
