Guitar Research Paper By: Arman Setser The famous guitarist I am researching is Jimi Hendrix. Jimi Hendrix is widely considered one of the greatest musicians and songwriters of all time. He is well known for his work with his group “The Jimi Hendrix Experience”, headlining the 1969 “Woodstock Festival”, and the 1970 “Isle of Wight Festival.” He was born in 1942 in Seattle, Washington. He got his first guitar for $5 from one of his dad’s friends. He learned to play by practicing for several hours a day and watching others play.
Family of Woodstock, Inc. Paper BSHS/355 Woodstock happen in 1969, eagerly more than 450, 000 people to pastor in Sullivan country. For four days, the site became a cultural mini-nation in which minds were open, drugs were all but legal and love was “free”. The music began Friday afternoon at 5:07 PM August 15 and continued until mid-morning Monday, August 18. The festival closed the New York State Thruway and created one of the nation’s worst traffic jams. It also inspired a slew of local and state laws to endure that nothing like it would ever happen again.
We had made lasting friendships and had so many laughs and good times. From the relay races, to horseback riding, arts and crafts and Ashley conquering her fear of the "mobster in the lake," it was a summer we would never forget. I said goodbye to my beloved horse Summer and promised to return the next year to see her beautiful face and go riding once again. We all sang songs and cried as one by one our patents came to pick us up. It was an amazing time the summer of 1998 and the last time I ever went to camp Edy.
After moving to San Diego in the summer of 1992, Mark Hoppus was reunited with his sister Anne, to whom he expressed his desire to be in a band. Anne attended Rancho Bernardo High School, where she became friends with new student Tom DeLonge who had been previously expelled from Poway High School for showing up drunk at a basketball game. DeLonge often expressed the desire to be in a band as well, so in August 1992 Anne introduced him to her brother Mark Hoppus. [1] The two played for hours in DeLonge's garage, showing each other songs they had previously written, and writing new songs together – one of which would become the track "Carousel". [1] To impress DeLonge, Hoppus climbed to the top of a streetlight outside of DeLonge's home – however, he cracked both heels on the landing, resulting in being in crutches for the next few weeks.
The first concert report I am doing is the one I attended with my fiancée on September 14 of this year at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. The Group that was preforming was Stone Temple Pilots which happens to be her all-time favorite group. I can start by saying that the atmosphere was pretty laid back with a lot of people in my age group attending. As this would be my first concert of my life, I really didn’t know what to expect while I was there. I was also surprised with the amount of music I knew from them.
Kevin had originally created and started up the Warped Tour in 1994, after being a part of the Lollapalooza festival for the previous three years. The first tour consisted of just a handful of his favorite Ska and Punk bands that grouped up on a few buses and began to tour. It was after this first year that Lyman began to rethink his touring concept, until the summer of ’95 where Vans Shoe Company approached him with the idea of a skating concert festival, hence the name “Van’s Warped Tour.” Lyman jumped at the opportunity to combine this idea with his own tour. This was the birth of the longest-running annual tour in North America. The crowds were nearly twice as large in 1996 than his original tour thanks to the sponsorship of Vans.
“Greatest Hits” by Bruce Springsteen Bruce Springsteen was born in Freehold, New Jersey on September 23rd, 1949. Having a fond interest in the music world, Springsteen, began learning how to play the guitar in his high school years. He developed his skill as a guitarist and eventually became what he is today. Bruce was a quick learner and because of this success he joined quite a few bands in his early days. First, he joined semi-professional bands such as “The Castiles” and “Steel Mill,” but he wanted to start his own band and write his own songs.
[citation needed] By age 16, Davis was a member of the music society and playing professionally when not at school. At 17, he spent a year playing in Eddie Randle's band, the Blue Devils. During this time, Sonny Stitt tried to persuade him to join the Tiny Bradshaw band, then passing through town, but Davis' mother insisted that he finish his final year of high
On Friday September 12th I went home for the weekend and attended my high school’s football game in Louisville. I thought it was exciting to go back to my former school as an alumni. I was even more excited about seeing the marching band. I was the captain of the color guard for three years and was anxious to see what the show would consist of this year. I couldn’t wait for the halftime show and wanted to hear what the band would sound like.
Sarah Campbell English composition 101 2/28/12 My Very First Trip to Florida Keys My very first trip to the Florida Keys, Started with a long Nineteen hour drive; full of many pit stops, and rest stops. When I arrived at the house we had rented along the island. The sandy beach met the water, and made it look like something out of a fairy tale. It was around 3.30 in the morning; I quickly unpacked the car, and headed to bed. The first days of my visit had me Awestruck, but sadden to leave.
