To understand why cats tend to claw furniture and wood work may help you understand them better. One reason is to sharpen their claws and the other is called “kneading” a behavior that is also called “milk-treading”. By kneading the cat is taken back to the good old days when they would knead at momma’s breast to make her milk come down. It is believed they only do this to people they really love. It is perfectly natural for a cat to claw and knead.
They should also clean any surfaces e.g. windowsills, door handles, tables, sinks. Floors should also be cleaned with disinfects to kill any germs. routinely clean all visibly dirty items such as bedside tables and night. Cleaners in a care home should clean towels daily, the kitchen should also be cleaned daily and the bathroom and toilet should be cleaned with disinfectant as all the
I had already gained consent from patient A for myself and the nurse to give a bed bath in accordance with the NMC code of conduct (NMC, 2008) and following this I went to collect the correct equipment to perform the task. As patient A had Clostridium Difficile they needed to be isolation nursed. We isolate nurse to “prevent the risk of spreading germs to other patients and staff” (NHS, 2010). Outside of the side room there were red aprons and gloves which needed to be put on before entering. Before entering the side room, it is essential to collect all equipment to avoid leaving the room unnecessarily.
These shampoos have been specifically Ph balanced for dogs and have a much lower chance of causing irritation to their skin or coat. You should also look for a shampoo with a strong, fresh fragrance to combat those first few romps and rolls through the dirt that your pet will inevitably take. You will need several old towels to help dry your dog after the bath, clean up the mess around the tub, and provide traction for your pet to stand on during the bath. Spread one or two towels out on the floor next to the tub to catch excess water that your dog will vigorously shake off in an attempt to help you with the drying process. A shower attachment on a long hose is also helpful for rinsing but not necessary.
Place appropriate mats in the bathroom as well as inside/outside the tub bath. | Trip (accident) | When mats or rugs are rugged or folded up, smalls objects left on the floor (i.e. brush, bucket, etc), uneven floors, etc. | Inform your supervisor about the obstructions on the floor or if the carpet is not placed correctly, remove all the objects from the floor and inform to others. In case of electrical wires on the floor make sure they are not on the way.
After the bath had finished filling I would then proceed to collect the service user from the lounge/ bedroom and assist them with their bathing needs. While assisting with their bathing needs I would apply PPE (gloves, apron) and allow them time to have a nice soak in the bath. When they are ready to get out the bath I would place appropriate non slip mat on the floor and assist the service user to exit the bath. I would help the service user to dry and dress if they require this and then would proceed to return the service user to their lounge/ bedroom before returning to the bathroom and begin the process of cleaning the bathroom ready for the next service user to use. In order to clean this I would collect cleaning equipment from the cleaner’s cupboard and spray the bath with appropriate cleaning agents and using a clean cloth and after cleaning the bath I would rinse this thoroughly with hot water to remove any residue from the bath.
In cases of FIC, or interstitial cystitis, owners should take care to avoid stress in the cat’s life. Stress can be caused by new animals in the house, a change in home or litter box location, a change in food or litter formulas, or a lack of behavioral enrichment (scratching posts, “hunting” toys, perches, etc.). In the case of Urolithiasis, a change in diet should be the first step to remedy the cat’s condition. Cystotomy should be the last option for treatment, as it is both invasive and stressful to the cat. For cats with urethral obstruction or urethral plugs, a failure to act quickly can lead to death.
About 40% of cats carry this disease most of which are kittens. The bacteria doesn’t present any harm to the cat therefore you can’t tell by looking at it if it is a carrier. Bartonella bacteria are known to be carried by fleas, body lice and ticks as well as cats. People with tick bites and no known exposure to cats have acquired the disease. The best way to reduce your risk of being infected with this rare bacteria is to avoid rough play with cats and if you are ever scratched or bitten to wash the womb immediately.
While the dog, if it wasn’t given a shower at least once a week, it would smell as well as the house. Another reason why cats are clean is because they poop and piss in one designated place in the house which is called the litter box, once that box is shown to the cat, it will use it reguraly. Unlike the dog, that needs to be walked out at least twice a day to get its things done, and whoever walking it has to pick up the waste after him, so cats are less work than dogs. Cats are more quiet and peaceful than dogs. They don’t meow all the time and they don’t meow at the visitors at home, they do so only if they are hungry or in pain .
First one must have to get all the things they will need before even starting the bed bath. Things needed are 2 basins, warm water, cotton blanket, 4 washcloths, 3 towels, soap, lotion and powder. Once all supplies have been gathered set them on a table or night stand, some thing or somewhere close by and easily reached. Close any open windows and or turn up the heat in the room to make it more comfortable for the person being bathing. Most people will probably want to pull closed any drapes or open curtains as well.
