Pearl Harbor was one of the most atrocious assaults on American soil. The surprise attack by the Japanese took place on the morning of December 7, 1941. Japan purpose was to cripple the U.S.’s Pacific fleet and crush any chance of a retaliation from the Pacific. After the attack the United States reacted by creating Internment Camps for Japanese Americans. This would entail uprooting thousands of Japanese from their homes. America decided to use two atomic bombs to retaliate, in doing so, it ended the war with Japan. This abominable act committed by the Japan was plenty of incentive to send the United States into World War II. He wanted to cripple the Western United States fleet by wrecking airfields, ships, runways, support facilities, and planes in hopes Of denying a counter attack. To prevent being discovered by U.S radar, the admiral conceived an ingenious scheme that would have the Japanese planes follow a storm front. They would also need to keep off their radios so the Americans wouldn’t detect them. Japans assault would consist of multiple aircraft carriers, cruisers, and battleships. They launched their first assault at 6:00 AM and they reached Pearl Harbor at 7:55 AM. The brutal bombardment lasted until 9:45 AM.
