Good Morning Miss Li, my fellows, Do u think u're successful? Or, do u think u're good enough? I guess most of u should hv an answer in yr mind. If not, I hope u'll have a clear mind after my presentation. For a start, I think we have to define the term successful first. To some people, a successful college student may be one having a lot of girlfriends or boyfriends while to some he may be one earning a large amount of money by photocopying tutorial notes and selling it to the others. For me, of course, to be serious, a successful college student should be one attaining the following. The first one being attitude. Personally, I think a successful college student should be one who always challenges himself that he's not good enough. “To improve is to change, to be perfect is to change often,” said Winston Churchill. Being successful is a matter of continuous effort, but not only strength or intelligence. A successful college student should be able to rectify his defects, open-minded enough to accepting new ideas day and night in pursuit of perfectibility deliberately and spontaneously. Secondly, with a positive attitude, we can put into action, which is to focus, to get things done, and to be active. Well, to focus effectively, let me first introduce u the 80/20 Rule, also known as Pareto Principle. It states that only 20 percent of the things you do give you 80 percent of your results. We always fail to discipline ourselves and acquire specific skills, therefore we lose our focus on what’s really important. It's vital to find out what parts of your life belong to the crucial 20% and focus your efforts there, and then invest your time where it has the potential to pay off big. Thirdly, to get things done, you have to be tight on your goals but flexible on your plans. You need to set goals for yourself. For example, u can make short term plans on a
