Matt’s relationship with Tam Lin and El Patrón shows how father figures can have a heavy influence on a child’s action, resulting in an overall change in their future behaviors. The two men taking up fatherly roles in the novel illustrate their similar traits to Matt through their actions. Both men appear to care for Matt deeply, treating Matt as if he matters and is not simply a clone to be used. Similarly, they also give him a sense of strength, continuing to shape Matt’s young mind. Their care gave Matt a form of stability, forming his character and keeping him from becoming someone like Tom, a young man who has received no love and positive attention.
'(page 206) Winston’s feelings towards Julia have a huge transition. Before knowing what kind of person Julia truly is, Winston assumes that she is just one of the other girls who always follow the orthodox path. Because of this, he hates her so much that if he ever has a chance he would kill her by throwing a cobblestone to her head. However, Julia is nothing like the other girl; instead of being orthodox, she has a very wild mind she is rebellious she hates the party as much as Winston does. These are all revealed by that piece of note she sent to Winston.
Not So SuperBad Sweetly absurd, Crude and awkward, Superbad is almost a typical teen movie, reminding me a bit of the American Pie films because of the simple plot and juvenile humour. However, compared to other teen movies the film is much more intelligently written than others of its genre, and this shines through in the characters. Superbad follows three high school seniors as they go on a long night of self-discovery, ending in drunken declarations of love between best friends with unrealistic yet entertaining events happening in between. The over weight Seth, played by Jonah Hill (Knocked Up) is foul-mouthed and impulsive, Evan, his best friend, played by Michael Cera is a more gentle and shy, almost to the point of being invisible,
They both hated, and disagreed fully with the party, of course not showing those feelings, in fear of being vaporized. Winston loved seeing or hearing about corruption in the party, which Julia told him about. He wanted Big Brother gone, but sharing his feelings, could end up placing him in the two minute hate. Julia had sexual activities with most of the party members, hundreds to thousands of them. This showed extreme corruption to the party, and Winston loved it.

He believes that Tim can express how he feels or get the right words out, but the story did not satisfy Norman and he commits suicide 8 months later in the locker room of a YMCA in his hometown. Norman’s role in this book is to help Tim to go from being a storyteller, or writer, to being a soldier.

Holden gives a fake name so he wouldn’t have to elaborate on his life to this woman. He also might’ve given this name to avoid being embarrassed if her son knew who she was really sitting next to. The main reason Holden lies to her is because he’s bored and he has a skill for lying. But I also think he lies to her to make her feel good about her son. Holden stops lying to her because he states that he can go on lying for hours but just didn’t feel like it.
When I was in the high school, my father and I did not get along with each other. What my father told me did not make sense to me, and what I say did not seem to make sense to my father. I thought his ideas were too obsolete. The time has changed; what was true when my father was young is no longer true. However, as I attend college and live by myself, I realized he was right to some extent, and his words came out because he also cared about my future as much as I do.
He wanted to protect him from the bad influences, but he was only scared of his son’s gift because he didn’t know what it meant for him. He didn’t know that painting made Asher happy, sometimes. Growing up he began to accept it little by little. “He seemed unable to believe it. Doodle’s brother and Joe compare because Doodle and Simon both depend on these boys for things. They both help to mentor, push, and help Doodle and Simon to do their best. Simon had an impeccable faith in all and in God. Doodle had faith in his brother and himself towards the end of his life. Both boys have pride in themselves because they both are pushing themselves for the better, and they believe vanity is utterly unimportant.
