RE essay Name: Ellen John How do people remember Jesus through the mass/ communion? ‘In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit’, the Holy Trinity, the people reply, ‘Amen’. This means that they pray in the name of the father which is God, and for his son who is Jesus and also with the Holy Spirit. This is what the people and the priest say at the start of the mass to remember God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. This helps people know who are they praying for, if they didn’t know who will they pray to? ‘The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit are with you all’. This means let everyone have the love of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. This will make everyone happy thinking’ god is with them and they don’t have to be worried about anything’. Instead of saying that the priest might say ‘Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ’/ The Lord be with you and the people reply ‘and with your spirit’. All of this means the same thing. The next thing he says is ’Peace be with you’, this means that let you live with no disturbances and let the load help you for you to keep away from the devil. ‘Brethren (brothers and sisters), let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries’. This is also said by the priest so we can remember what we did wrong and let the load forgive you. I think this is a way for people to make their minds fresh for another chance to be good.
