Just as God said He will meet us at our place of need, the Holy Spirit will guide us and mature us as we commit to spending time in and studying the Word, being mentored, and surrendering our lives to God. Becoming a disciple is a joint process between the person, the church, mentors and leaders, and the Holy Spirit. There is much to learn and adapt to in order to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. There is an expression that is used regarding raising children: “It takes a village.” This is also applicable in the making of a disciple. The local church is responsible for evangelizing within the community and reaching out to those who don’t know Christ.
He taught us to be kind and not to judge, to treat our neighbors respectfully. He taught us to turn the other cheek and to have faith in God’s word. Jesus taught us not only to love ourselves but to love mankind as well. Jesus taught us how to walk the road to righteousness and to have faith in God our heavenly father. Jesus addressed many issues during his sermon on the mount.
Through the divinity and humanity of the Christ, Christians and believers share the stories through word of mouth. The Son of God is also evident from the sacred texts of the Gospel testimonies which include the wonders and recoveries on people achieved by Jesus, and from the witness to his death, resurrection and ascension into heaven by his followers and other eyewitnesses. The beliefs of the divinity recognise his relationship to God as Son. Jesus’s divinity showed Jesus’ role to be the salvation of humanity and to resurrect and rise to defeat death. In the Gospel of John 1:14 “The Word became
Christianity teaches that people should not work on the day of Sabbath as God himself didn’t and that it should be the day of rest. However, Jesus didn’t follow these rules and decided to do the most loving thing and heal a sick person on this day even though he wasn’t supposed to. Some could argue that situation ethics and its ideas about love fit into Christian theology perfectly because even Jesus broke rules to do the most loving thing possible. Johns part of the gospels state that “God is love” and from this we can interpret that Christians must live their lives by trying to be Omnibenevolent and doing the most loving thing in all situations no matter how extreme. Fletcher incorporated the quote from the gospels into his ethical theory and devised six propositions and four principles.

Prayer is communication with God, so as Christians it is important that it is more than just formal, memorised prayers but you must speak to God, telling the Lord in our own words what we think and feel. Prayer is an essential part of Christians lives and has been since its earliest days. It is the crucial component of the Christian faith as it is the tradition of communication with God. The role of personal prayer rituals plays a very significant role in the tradition since Christian’s model their lives on the example of Jesus. Personal prayer is the prayer of an individual.
There is no need to be scared to go to heaven because heaven is a better and more peaceful place. I believe in this essay Jonathan Edwards tries to scare you to be afraid of the lord and it actually causes the feeling of the peaceful and loving god you believe in into someone to be scared of. If you believe in Christ you shouldn’t be afraid and later throughout my essay you will find out why. Everyone will be held through the same punishment in the time the lord shall come but it wouldn’t be anything dramatic. If you believe in him and read the bible correctly god
Prayer is simply communing with God. Jesus set the perfect example for prayer when he taught his disciples what we call the Lords’ prayer. There are times in our life when we don’t know what to pray for but the word of God said that the Holy Spirit will make intercession for us. The Apostle Paul and Silas prayed and the Holy Spirit caused the ground to shake during their imprisonment. During the book of Acts we see not only the early Church praying but also the disciples.
Salvation is a completely free gift from the Lord and comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. This is idea lead people to a gracious lifestyle in order to be saved. This fear was accomplished by the dreadful images of hell to make people live good lives, in order to not suffer at the end of
Although, Merton obviously understands the importance of forgiveness and cherishes this concept, because he has been quoted saying that “We do not really know how to forgive until we know what it is to be forgiven. Therefore we should be glad that we can be forgiven by our brothers. It is our forgiveness of on another that makes the love of Jesus manifest in our lives, for in forgiving we act towards one another as God as acted towards us.” It is for these reasons why I believe that Merton would have disagreed with Wiesenthal’s course of action, and will agree to the fact that it was his duty as a Christian to show mercy towards someone who had been suffering and who had asked for
