Colonial history, global economic integration and finally the assassination president Habyarimana was the perfect combination for the tragic genocide of the Tutsi people of Rwanda. This unfortunate genocide, which occurred from May 1994 to July 1994, was reenacted in the film “Hotel Rwanda”. In the movie, the main character and protagonist Paul Rusesabagina, a business savvy Hutu father married to Tatiana, a Tutsi. Is the manager of the Belgian owned hotel Sabena, Hotel des Mille Collines. After the official outbreak begins, he reluctantly turns the hotel into a safe haven for both Tutsis and Hutus, even though he would be killed if generals found out that he was keeping Tutsis safe.
In a single attack the combination of the Sudaneese army and the janjaweed 60,000 peoples lives were changed forever (Hueschen). Unlike Iraq where the government is trying to help the people of it’s country, the Sudaneese government are the one responsible for the suffering of it’s people. However it causes me great sorrow that we have lost 3500 of our own men. All of us fought in this battle to show that we were capable of planning and carrying out a successful attack. Throughout this war, I was scared Emily because my life was under constant threat, bullets were being randomly fired at us, I was seeing men die all around me from a bullet or because of fever and disease, I am thankful and proud that I survived this war. Night and Hotel Rwanda In the book Night and the movie Hotel Rwanda there are many similarities. They both are based on true stories that actually happened. One sees this in the book when it reads, “Then the Geats built the tower…the treasures they’d taken were left there too.” (63) If Beowulf had been an ordinary and un-epic man, the Geats would have buried him in a common manner and used the treasure for themselves. Clearly, all evidence points to the fact that Beowulf was truly epic in the manner that he led his troops and his
The Los Angeles Times used previous stories to depict the most “dangerous man of the decade” (“Dillinger’s Trail Long”). It used all the previous evidence to prove why Dillinger was known as a criminal. The objective for this paper was to develop a creation of stories in history and turn it into one; almost something like a flashback. It referenced all these causes to prove a point on exactly why he died or even why he had to be captured. The Los Angeles Times had a very descriptive and informative outlook on each event that happened throughout the three consecutive days.
The were killed in their homes, in the streets, and as familes. All the other foreign countries like the United States did shameful acts like ignoring what was going on in Rwanda. There are many comparisions between the Jewish and Rwanda genocides.
In wearing that suit, Django is making the statement that he carried the blood of people he has killed, and in essence has gained their power. He has now the power that had been formally obtained by the White characters in the story, now dead. His red suit is symbolic form of absolute power, power he has gained in the process of defending his loving wife. Red blood

He is well-known for shoving an opinion down your throat through the messages in his movies, because that is just how racy and controversial his work is. In “When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts,” Lee utilized first-hand accounts of what exactly happened that fateful August. His interviewees range from New Orleans civilians, historians, journalists, and even politicians were featured. I was highly impressed with the approach that Spike Lee took in his approach with the interviews; he wasn’t biased in any sort of fashion.
