Although this crafty hero has many other great qualities, these qualities are the highlights of his character. Odysseus’s best quality, in my opinion, is his sneaky cleverness. Odysseus is always thinking, and he shows it numerous times throughout his adventures. One of his most crafty plans, on page 225, was when he tied himself and all of his men to the Cyclops’s ram’s bellies and escaped from the Cyclops into their ship. Polyphemus, the Cyclops, didn’t sense that the Odysseus and the men were hiding, and when he let is rams free, the crew escaped.
Abraham the father of the nation of Israel has lived such a different live than Odysseus the emblem of heroism but even though throughout Abrahams live he proves over and over again that he is also worthy of being called an Epic Hero. Every great hero is well known for his military tactics. Tactics that not just save people’s live but are genius in idea. Odysseus shows his brilliance when he saves his men from Cyclops or when he comes up with the idea of the Trojan Horse . Abraham had to save his nephew Lot, Genesis describes Abraham as “wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold”, the Bible says that he had donkeys and camel.
He goes fearlessly into battle when he fights the powerful beast Humbaba, as well as when Ishtar tells Anu to release the mighty bull to trample Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh was triumphant in both battles of ridding his city of harm. Another characteristic that made Gilgamesh a hero
In stories, the protagonist is always the interesting one who saves people. In “The Odyssey” by Homer the hero, Odysseus, makes this story very interesting to read. Odysseus has remarkable qualities that show the reader at the beginning of the story that he is the protagonist through analyzing his personality. Odysseus is a strong, courageous leader and his intelligence always gets him closer and closer to his goal. Odysseus’s strong leadership play’s a huge role in the issues that face him on his journey home to Ithaca.

Oedipus saves the citizens from the totalitarian rule of the Sphinx, by solving the difficult and complicated riddle. Then again, near the conclusion of the play, Oedipus shows courage and self-sacrifice for the benefit of his people. He gouges out his own eyes and exiles himself from Thebes to save his people from the devastating plague. All this is evidence of Oedipus’ abundance of integrity and overall heroic qualities, in turn exhibiting his morality, virtue, and nobility. Oedipus is undoubtedly a righteous hero.
Lord Asriel may be strong, and Iorek may be too,but none can compare to how brave and strong Lyra was in this heartwarming tale. The intelligence in this story in the two father figures is quite frequent. They have very prominent talents in the tale of it. The ways of these brains are demonstrated in different ways. One way is that Iorek has many great battle strategies and is smart in the way that he can outsmart people lower and higher than him.
Odysseus is a hero based on his actions, cleverness, and the heroic things he did to keep his men alive. He is more heroic in the first half then the second half, when he fights off the Cyclops,
a quick wit accompanied by extraordinary intelligence and a perspicacity for the journeys he must endure and the adversaries that he will have to thwart. Although, epic heroes are created to be a personification of perfection, they also have flaws. These flaws can be used against them by their enemies or even themselves. An essential part of becoming an epic hero is over conquering those flaws or learning to work with them. The two texts that we read contained to easily distinguishable epic heroes.
The appeal of Richard’s character is the most interesting aspect of this play. Several writers have commented on the audience’s attraction to him. Robert Ornstein, in his article “Richard III ,” describes Richard as an “engaging, heroic, honest villain, one who opens his heart to the audience in soliloquies and asides” (pg. 204). Richard is engaging because of his ability, during his ascent to power, to overcome anyone who presents themselves as an obstacle.
