• Theme: The Sacred Realm • People throughout history have turned to a world we cannot see except through faith, the sacred realm of the spirit (Getlein, 2010, p. 49). Amida Nyorai is a spiritual Buddha leader. The statue Amida Nyorai was created in the 11th century. Many Buddhists come to worship at the temple. The sacred realm cannot be seen with human eyes, yet the artists throughout the ages have been asked to create images of gods, goddesses, angels, demons, and all manner of spirit beings (Getlein, 2010, p. 53).

A great deal of Cambodian Hindu sculpture is preserved at Angkor, however organized looting has had a heavy impact on many sites around the country. In Thailand, sculpture was almost exclusively of Buddha images. Many Thai sculptures or temples are gilded, and on occasion enriched with inlays.
Assignment 1: Comparison of Two Religions Although the past weeks in the study of Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Daoism, and Confucianism have provided great insight and inspiration, the concentration of this research will seek to provide further exploration of Hinduism and Buddhism. Hinduism and Buddhism, both originating in India are very similar religions that, at the same time have distinct differences. While Hinduism is about understanding existence from within a person’s soul, Buddhism is about understanding and recognizing the absence of the permanent soul. In Hinduism, attaining the highest life possible is a process of removing the body from distractions in life, allowing one to eventually understand their own internal nature. In Buddhism, by following a methodical life one can find an understanding of existence and achieve Nirvana (enlightenment).
Buddhism originated in India and spread throughout the country via the Silk Road. The caves at Yungang contain many of the first examples of early Buddhist sculpture in China. The Seated Buddha was carved during the Wei Dynasty. This piece of artwork is over 45 feet tall and carved out of stone.

In this project, we will look at the most popular Asia religion within the Asian culture and populations of the US. Buddhism Hinduism Taoism Buddhism Buddhism was introduced into the United States for more than one hundred years of history. The 19th century, Japan expanded to the Pacific area, so that Buddhism spread with Japanese immigrants into the Hawaiian Islands. And later go into San Francisco and other place.
The second temple is the Great Stupa, a dome-shaped Buddhist monument from the Maurya Dynasty in Sanchi, India. The structure was built sometime from the 3rd C BCE to 1st C Ce,. Both of these monuments have many similarities and differences in structure and symbolism, but the dominant theme that ties them together is the idea that they connecting our real with the heavenly realm. These buildings came from completely different cultures, yet they have surprisingly similar styles. For example, both buildings require the visitor to first enter though a series of columns before reaching the main attraction.
Continuity and changes over time essay From 100 C.E to 600 C.E classical China experienced many political and cultural changes and continuities. China had changes and continuities in areas such as religion, government, territorial expansion, and many others. China’s culture and politics consisted of continuities, but there were few changes. These continuities and changes allowed classical China to spread but also eventually led to their fall. A cultural change was the increase in popularity in Buddhism, which was brought in by missionaries from India.

Art had affected this by the building of sculptures, different architecture, the beginning of drama, and literature. In math, different solutions were created that we still use in present day. Through philosophy, people came with new ideas of thinking and understanding, Democracy made the society have freedom and increase in advancements. The ancient Greeks contributed philosophy, art, math, and democracy to Western Civilization.
Historical basis Buddhism started in India as a philosophy of easing suffering about 2600 years ago. This philosophy was founded by Siddhartha Gantama, he gained followers and was later known as “The Buddha” (‘the awakened one’). This religion initially started in India. As the religion evolved, it spread through Asia and is now widely known throughout the world. Buddhism in Australia Buddhism is a small but growing religion in Australia.
Ashoka converted to Buddhism and promoted its spread inside and outside of India. The inscriptions he had carved on stones and erected in many places in his empire provide some of the best-dated sources on early Indian history and show his efforts to centralize
