Perspectives on slavery I think everyone can agree that slavery is wrong. As Americans we can only look back with regret, at the acts that took place. Slaves were treated poorly they were beaten and were not well fed. Kids 12 and younger were slaves, families were separated, and slaves would even get beaten brutally and without mercy. As with every crime you need evidence, and to prove to those who are naïve and do not believe in what happened it is necessary. Historical diary entries benefit us, because they help us know the true facts. They cannot be altered or faked. They are historical evidence that we use to identify and figure out what really happened. With the diary entries we can learn about how slaves were treated, what difficulties they had to go through, and exactly what conditions they lived under. Historical diary entries give us an inside look on what happened and how slaves were treated. These diary entries are not just stories, they are testimonies, and proof of the cruelty that took place during those times. Slaves were treated horribly. What was done to them was wrong and inhumane. Masters would abuse their power over their slaves. In the diary of the slave girl her master took advantage of her. They are accounts of real people that went through these things, and have no reason to lie. Humans should not be treated this way and hopefully never again will they have too. These historical diaries teach us a lot about the past and give off amazing amounts of information. They are a great deal of help to those who are trying to find out what happened. I believe that historical diaries are very valuable because of these reasons, and it is the truth. In the case of slavery it helped us learn about how slaves were treated, what difficulties they had to go through, and exactly what conditions they lived
