People who usually take Crystal Meth seek the pleasure from the chemical reaction in the brain and a hyper effect on the body systems. People who use Crystal Meth will experience hyper activity and won’t be able to properly sleep and will become lazy. People who take Crystal Meth appear normal, but for many years of taking the drug, the hidden effects build up. Methamphetamine addiction is very damaging to the body and mind. Bad temper and social difficulties are obvious effects.
Much to contrary belief meth users do suffer from withdraws as well as any other drug addict would. The severity and length of the symptoms vary with the amount of damage done to the body through amphetamine use. The most common symptoms are irritability, loss of energy, depression, difficulty in sleeping, and shaking
As with most illegal drugs, heroin use has both short-term and long-term effects. Whether injected, snorted or smoked, heroin will begin to affect the body's central nervous system almost immediately after it is used. Short-Term Effects Shortly after using, a feeling of euphoria will come over users, in which they have a warm flushing of the skin, a dry mouth and the feeling of having "heavy" arms and legs. After the initial rush, users will go into an alternately wakeful and drowsy state sometimes called "on the nod." Because heroin suppresses the central nervous system, the user experiences "cloudy" mental function.
As with soma, prescription drugs (where prescribed or otherwise) provide a quick fix for physical or mental problems and/or a way to get high. But these drugs also hurt the users, with addiction, bodily functions failing and making them be violent. The use of drugs has severe effects on the users and not only in reality but also in Brave New World. Usually people turn to drugs for relief and contentment, they want to be in a state of mind where they can feel things which they usually can’t and to be in a state of pleasure so they turn to them. Most do not realise the harsh long term effects these drugs can
In fact drugs are being encouraged for anyone in need of it. However in today's society drugs seem to result in chaos rather than stability. It is illegal to take drugs with the exception of prescription drugs. Sadly in our society, drugs are also quickly available for those that want it. Unlike soma, the drugs produce numerous negative aftereffects.
These effects include impaired perception, impaired judgment, diminished short-term memory, loss of concentration and coordination, and increased risk of accidents (“Basic Facts,” 1999). Its odd to think that all mood altering drugs even those such as alcohol have these same adverse effects. Another adverse effect attributed to marijuana use is psychological dependency; yet, marijuana is not truly addictive as is tobacco or alcohol the fact, remains, dependency to alcohol can be so severe that abrupt stoppage will manifest itself into adverse physical ailments during the withdrawal process. Alcohol is the only drug known that can cause severe neurological changes as well as death during the withdrawal process (“Delirium tremens,” 2010). Where as physical withdrawal symptoms are not associated with
This group of drugs includes cocaine, methamphetamine, as well s nicotine. Though amphetamine does have some positive effects, including, a stimulation of cognitive activity and control of impulses, the greater effects are much ore detrimental. Due to is relative simplicity of manufacturing and overwhelming abundance; methamphetamine use is a plague on America. I personally have seen people deteriorate before my eyes due to methamphetamine use. Cocaine is another stimulant that often leads to dependence in users.
Ecstasy messes with the nervous system, and enhances all senses. Taking Ecstasy can lead to lose of sexual inhibitions, which can lead to AIDs or other STDs. In addition, don’t do
Heroin produces a downer effect that rapidly induces a state of relaxation and extreme pleasure. Heroin tolerance develops very quickly, and increased doses are needed in order to achieve the initial effects. Because of this tolerance overdosing on heroin and other opium derived drugs is extremely common.
A very commonly manipulated element is the medication itself. Due to of the amount of abuse and danger derived of that abuse, the government decided to limit and regulate the distribution and/ or prescription of narcotic and other misused drugs. While this sounds good in theory, it can and has become a controversial issue. Caught up in the midst of all this are physicians. While certain drugs are great for pain management, such as oxycontin and other narcotics, they are also great for a “high” and are commonly abused (“Prescription Medications”).
