Drugs are a substance that can either help the body, which are called prescription drugs, although they can damage the body if instructions aren't followed. Things like cannabis, LSD, ecstasy etc. are dangerous to the human body, but are used by people socially, and as much as smoking, and alcohol. Most drugs are illegal, and prescribed medication can only be bought with a prescription from your doctor at a chemist. Although some drugs are more harmful than others, in large doses, almost all of them can have mental and fatal effects. Hallucinogens can alter a persons mind dramatically. They change the way people think, and give a false idea of what's going on around them, causing them to hallucinate. Three drugs that cause this are LSD, magic mushrooms and acid. Stimulants are a type of substance that makes the person happy, and they're also known as uppers by today's youth. These are the type of drugs that are used to keep people awake, and full of energy. It causes the heart to beat and your body to move a lot faster, for longer, no matter how tired they are. These are nicotine, cocaine, ecstasy and caffeine. Stimulants like ecstasy can be extremely damaging to the body, because they are often take in the form of a pill. Inside these pills are chemicals, like chlorine, and even glass is found in some. If not looked into, taking such substances can often be fatal. Depressants have the complete opposite affect to stimulants and instead of speeding up the body, they slow it down, which causes the body to relax. These include, cannabis, inhalants, tranquillisers and alcohol. Cannabis is one of the most renowned drugs, and has become a large problem due to youth taking it a lot.
