I was adopted a couple of months later, by Puerto Rican family. However, my biological father and mother were French, Irish and Dominican respectively. My adoptive grandfather took care of me after school; I was lavished with love and comfort by my adoptive grandfather. In the sixth grade, when I was eleven years old, every Sunday my mother started taking my sister and me to Holy Name Catholic Church.
On March 27th 1997 the movie Selena was released. It was directed by Gregory Nava and starred Jennifer Lopez as Selena. It is a popular movie and has helped make a whole new generation of fans aware of who Selena was and what she accomplished in her life. On April 12, 1995, two weeks after her death, George W. Bush, governor of Texas at the time, declared her birthday "Selena Day" in Texas. Today, nearly 15 years after her death, Selena’s legacy lives on.

Roseanne C. Barr Roseanne Barr was born November 3, 1952 to a Jewish family in Salt Lake City. Helen, her mother, sold books and her father, Jerome was a salesperson. For some reason her family hid their Jewish heritage from their neighbors. Roseanne has stated, "Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning I was a Jew; Sunday afternoon, Tuesday afternoon, and Wednesday afternoon we were Mormons" When Roseanne was 17 she dropped out of school and lived her life as a dishwasher at a local restaurant. She became pregnant and decided to give her daughter up for adoption.

Upon hearing of her destitute condition, many women with whom she had worked in the NACW voted to provide her a lifelong monthly pension of $25. Living past ninety, Harriet Tubman died in Auburn on March 10, 1913.
After she died she had many great honors. She was buried in Fort Hill Cemetery because of her military rights. Harriet was a hero to everyone. Almost a year after her death the town of Auburn created a one-day memorial in regards to their anti-slavery hero, Harriet Tubman. On that day, people of the town of Auburn revealed the Harriet Tubman Plaque, which is still on display at the Cayuga County Court House.
In 1957 she became pregnant again, but this time it was a success, Caroline Kennedy was born in November. Their second child John Jr. was born three years after Caroline. Jacqueline gave birth to one more child but this child was of the Kennedy Curse, Patrick Kennedy died thee days after his birth. A month after the death of their 3rd child Jacqueline witnessed her husbands’ death while riding in a car, he was shot and killed. Years went by and Jacqueline remarried, but in 1994 at the age of 65 she fell victim to cancer and died later in that year in May.
