Review the system of healthcare in the United States to include classification/types of Health Service Organizations (HSO’s), regulations, professional organizations and payment schemes. 2. Identify the types and structures of HSO’s and Health Services. 3. Distinguish various healthcare technology systems and how they are used in HSO’s. 4. Understand the professional responsibilities of the ethics and legal environment. 5. Distinguish between management practices employed by HOS’s and explain what skills are necessary. 6. Demonstrate managerial problem solving, decision making, quality initiatives’ and how strategy is used in HSO’s. 7. Identify how and why marketing plays a role in HSO’s. 8. Review and demonstrate knowledge on recourse allocation and how these limited resources are controlled. 9. Distinguish between designing, leading and effective communications in HSO’s. Teaching Method: This course is an online class. Online courses are delivered over a 12-week period. Emphasis will be placed on a variety of instructional techniques which are used to encourage learning and critical thinking.
