Group Project Experience Towards the end of the course, we all were assigned groups and were asked to do various assignments with our designated group. I went through a problem because of which I don’t know how I behaved and went with my group members, so I will not make any comment on any of my group members or the kind of work they did. However, gradually we all developed a sense of understanding among ourselves for group work and all of us took certain typical tasks related to group work for ourselves like making slides for presentation, data collection from the net, analyses of data, making reports of project work etc. I took the task of developing the procedure to carryout project work and telling others how to proceed for project work. My job was to analyze and compile the data they use to collect and make final reports and presentations for the work.
the cycle of learning to enable me to develop my own understanding and as a reflective practitioner I can link this with Schon’s (1983) concepts of reflecting in action and reflecting on action to help improve my actions and professional practice and show that I evaluate my experiences and integrate it to theory and knowledge in supervision (Aids to Practice cards, Values and Ethics, p112). The relevant skill to use with the case study service user is communication. I will start explaining its relevance by looking at why it is an important skill for all social workers to use in their practice. In Block 1 of K113 we heard a number of service users and practitioners talk about examples of good and bad social work. They highlighted that a good social worker makes you feel important, works in partnership with you, gains your confidence, is straight talking
First, the goal of team learning is to align team members “thoughts and energies.” By achieving alignment and learning together, a team will create synergy. Two important components of team learning are discussion and dialogue. Successful team learning will
Once the approval list goes out the teachers will be notified the stages of implementation and the tentative training schedule. Where all new things eventually work out for the best there will be pitfalls in the road to overcome. A few of these include time constraints, funding, and resistance. The most problematic being resistance from educators not
All the steps and guidelines for everything are kept in a PowerPoint I made that is basically a step by step tutorial on what to do for each thing. 1.2 Explain the purpose of planning work, and being accountable to others for own work. Planning is essential to manage your time in a constructive way to complete the actions to be carried out. Planning helps to be organised on a day-to-day, weekly and monthly basis. While planning you have to obtain as many details about the piece of work you are doing to enable you to produce your work as efficiently as possible.
Issues can be taken to our personal supervisors, but immediate attention for issues can be taken straight to the tutor, in which a breech of confidentiality is necessary after discussion with the person involved. What will group members do to help each other learn?. We will be there to give constructive feedback, discuss other options, reaffirm positive actions and to offer alternative approaches and share resources. How will difficulties and conflicts be dealt with? The timekeeper will remind of ground rules.
CBT is collaborative and it is necessary to have a constructive and trusting relationship between the therapist and client. As most behavioural responses are learned, the therapist has an active role to help the client get rid of these reactions and learn new and productive forms. CBT is based on the theory that a client’s thoughts determine their emotions and behaviour. This is a benefit as it allows them to
Refocusing on your thinking and knowledge to generate new ideas. Look at your behaviour, learning needs and your judgement. Why is reflective practice important? Reflective practice is important for you to focus on how you interact with your colleagues, customers and the each environment that you will be in. It’s an impact on yourself learning and knowledge you have gained.
As our text states, a consultant must be particularly careful to maintain appropriate boundaries, I believe with consultant once must possessive certain traits such as being an experts that can handle the problem. Explain the importance of the three roles and their use with supervisees. As a teacher the supervisee role is to teach the students the basic counseling skills needed, also I feel as a teacher the supervisees assumes no responsibility of the students in training. For the counselor, I believe they are responsible for providing the information about the profession and practice as well making sure they are aware of the ethical standards and or providing competent counseling. As a supervisee the counselor should make sure they help with personal adjustment as well as developmental problems that may arise.
The teams’ ability to accomplish a meaningful and successful project relies on the individual communication skills engaged by its team members throughout the project. The communication strategy used by a team should take into account the learning styles and personality types of its members. Learning Styles The learning styles of a team of people are as diverse as the individuals within the team; “Learning style is defined as a set of characteristics which make learning effective for an individual” (Seckel, 2007, p. 22). Each team’s communication and collaboration strategy will vary, depending on the learning styles of their team members. Each learning style has its own set of abilities, skills, and study techniques to consider in developing an effective communication strategy; “Your learning style – your mind’s particular way of taking in and processing information – is as unique as you are” (Carter, Bishop, Kravits, 2007, p. 38).
