Section1 & 2 In the beginning, a furious and crazy dictating monster was heard growling impatiently. Everyday music was playing about “The ancient beginnings of us all” (Raffle, 21). Hrothgar’s men lived in a great friendly environment until the mean and Evil monster; Grendel came and haunted the warriors. He was conceiving by a pair of monsters, who were the blame for the death of Abel. The almighty kept the demons out, but soon split into different forms of evil.
In No Country for Old Men, a novel written by Cormac McCarthy and later adapted into a film by the Coen Brothers, good does not stand a chance against evil. It is not one step behind, but five. The story shows a world that has changed drastically from a time when “the old-time sheriffs never even wore a gun” to a time when “A lot of folks find that hard to believe.” The story is set in the 1980s when the world is filled with criminals, whether it be Pablo Escobar and the Medellin drug cartel, or Mexican Drug dealers and their American counterparts. With these people running around it is impossible to think of a time where it would be safe for a sheriff to not carry a weapon, because nowadays danger is around every turn. The characters in No Country for Old Men, Anton Chigurh, Llewellyn Moss, the Mexicans, are all bad in some sense.

Why So Serious?? “I believe whatever doesn’t kill you simply makes you a stranger”. Before looting the entire bank and wiping out his accomplices, those were the last words spoken by The Joker. The most discernible reason behind the resounding success of The Dark Knight which seem to have blockbust its way into the Box Office as one of the most popular film after Titanic, is the character of The Joker portrayed by the Late Heath Ledger. Over the years, Batman's greatest nemesis has undergone a multitude of changes.
The Green Mile is a typical American drama. A drama film is a film genre that depends mostly on in-depth development of realistic characters dealing with emotional themes. I consider this film as a typical American drama because the dramatic themes such as, moral dilemmas, racial prejudice, class divisions, and corruption put the characters in conflict with themselves, others, society and even natural phenomena. In 1935, inmates at the Cold Mountain Correctional Facility call Death Row "The Green Mile" because of the dark green linoleum that tiles the floor. Paul Edgecomb is the head guard on the Green Mile when a new inmate is brought into his custody: a giant African American man, John Coffey, who was falsely accused of raping and killing two young white girls in Louisiana.
Not the Stereotypical COA Review of: | Newjack: Guarding Sing Sing By: Ted Conover | Curtis Robinson CJ 3312 Prisons In America April 4, 2013 | When you think of a correctional officer, the first thing that comes to mind are movies like The Shawshank Redemption or The Green Mile where the guards are portrayed as sadistic people who pleasure at the pain and angst of the prisoners they guard. If that portrayal is all that you have seen, then what else do you have to go by, right? Well in Ted Conover’s book Newjack: Guarding Sing Sing, he gives another view of correction officers, the real one. Conover attempted to shadow a “newjack” initially to write his book but was denied by New York’s department of corrections. So he applied for the job himself and three years later got the call to start boot camp like training to become a newjack himself.

Many people have a hard time separating movies from the real world and some people assume the character is that person in real life Denzel Washington is the first African American male to win an Academy Award for the Best Male Actor category. Washington won this award for his role as Detective Alonzo Harris in the movie Training Day. Surprisingly, this role was one of Washington's most ill-mannered, profane, selfish, and malicious characters. This was definitely the "bad guy" role for Washington and this is the film that won him an Academy Award. The irony in this situation is Denzel has played the good guy for so long that his acting talents were only recognized by the Academy when he played the stereotypical black male role, which is the ignorant, greedy, street thug.
As the authority takes the boys in a dark room, as the camera zooms out with the boys scramming allows the responder to realize the situation the boys are in. All of the negative effect and the power used by the authority on the four boys, left Reilly and Marcano unable to cope with society, who were “Haunted by our experience” and became the “Hills Kitchens titman” similar to Tyson. They end up taking their revenge on Sean Nokes and both die due of a drug overdose at an early age from the treatment of the institution. Other two boys Sullivan and Gerizo also were “Haunted by our experience: but used the strict violet treatment from the institution to conform
When the story begins “the H-G men took George and Hazel Bergeron’s fourteen-year old son, Harrison, away” (Vonnegut 38) because he showed un-equality. To be certain that everyone was equal, the H-G men took Harrison away. The H-G men separated Bergeron’s family just to keep everyone equal. When Harrison escapes prison and displays his abilities, “Diana Moon-Glampers, a handicapper general, came into the studio with a double barreled ten-gauge shot gun… fired twice, and the emperor and empress were dead before they hit the floor” (Vonnegut 44). The Handicapper General caused fear in the audience by killing both the emperor and his empress was going to far for the simple reason to cause a cogent feeling in the crowd.
