The Anti-Federalists’ strongest argument, however, was that the Constitution lacked a Bill of Rights. The Anti-Federalists warned that without a Bill of Rights, a strong national government might take away the human rights won in the Revolution. They had great apprehension about the potential loss of sovereignty through the power given to the national government in the proposed Constitution and the resulting horrific effects that such a loss would have on the nation and the people as a whole. The Anti-Federalist belief was that through the integrity of state sovereignty, effective restraints would be in place to keep the national government from deteriorating into a despotic government thus protecting the liberties and freedoms of the people. Anti-Federalist felt that the Constitution gave more power to central government and less to the states.
Many people have argued about the most important principals of the constitution, and many have expresses their viewpoints. I believe the three most important Principals of the constitution are Separation of powers, Checks and balances, and Popular Sovereignty. The first Principle we will look at is Separation of powers. What this principle means is that each different branch of the government has different responsibilities; this system is put into effect so to prevent one branch to become to powerful over the other. I believe that this principal of the Constitution is very important because without this put into effect the senate of the president could become much too powerful and overthrow the whole government and we would be in a dictatorship or we would be in a direct democracy or some other form of government.
Outline Although the founding of the Constitution was a revolutionary, positive turning-point in American history, the US Constitution has a few unconstitutional and democratic shortcomings. Introduction In order to understand the shortcomings of democracy of the US Constitution, is it is important to know the background of its’ founding and how each article serves our country. Federalist No. 10, written by James Madison, asserts the importance of having the image of a democracy without its real substance. There seems to have been a very strong opposition towards democracy at the Constitutional Convention, although the framers were in the midst of creating democratic principles to appeal to the majority of the country.
The stark diffrences between the two parties lead the the demise of the Federalist Parties and the rise of the Democratic Republicans. The Federalist and the Democratic Republicans have many different views on how they believe the government should be and how it should be set up. The federalists lead by Alexander Hamilton believed that the United States should create the first national bank, to help fund the nations debt from the war and to establish a states government and not a central government , but the Democratic Republicans believed it was against the constitution to establish a national bank, the Democratic Republicans also believed that a strong central government should be established instead of a states government, and with this one currency instead of one for every state. The Federalists also believed that a protective Tariff should be put in place to shield infant industries, the Federalist also believed in commercial trade throughout the sea ports to other countries. The Democratic Republicans on the other hand believed that no special tariff should be put on the manufacturers, and didn't believe in commercial trade they believed in agriculture.
Machiavelli's view on Government Machiavelli was a great thinker of his time and almost all of his views can be related to current situations. In his essay, The Moral of the Prince, he writes about the real truth of principles a prince ought to adopt opposed to those that are imagined by the people that a prince or head of state ought to possess. The government is a twisted system and in order to do the right thing, we should try not to do the right thing but to persuade people that it was the right thing to do. There is no perfect leader, what we portray as a perfect leader is nothing but our minds going wild wanting to do good all the time. Immigration is a huge issue in America.
There is no single document entitled the United Kingdom constitution; this leads some academics to call the constitution unwritten and some claim that the United Kingdom has no formal constitution at all. If the term constitution is defined in a narrow way, it is a single or collection of documents in which all the basic rules of a state are set out. A broader definition explains that a constitution contain rules, written or unwritten that establish the creation and operation of government institutions. If the term constitution is defined narrowly, as a single or series of written document(s), then the United Kingdom has no constitution. However, if the broader definition is adopted that states the existence of rules which determine governments operation and institutions, then a constitution exists in the United Kingdom.
In a representative democracy it is important to “guard the society against the oppression of its rulers, but to guard one part of the society against the unjustice of the other part.” (Madison) The republic protects the rights of the people and varying minority factions. Madison recognizes that under the Constitution, society is divided into many groups of people that hold different views and different interests. The more minority groups, the harder it is for one large group to dominate or threaten the minority. Madison also speaks out against a confederal system of government. He, and the framers of the constitution, believed that in a confederal system that the states may have more power.
Many are in this group because they do not have alternative employment opportunities from the government. Several are dismayed at the progress made by the government and disappointed with the unfulfilled promises that were made to them by the international community. Categorizing the potential partners in this negotiation poses the first big challenge that grips the government. The Afghan president is not the only person to decide and accept the Taliban’s demands, but has to get support from its cabinet. The president is obliged to answer questions to all other parties such as its cabinet and political groups.
Hamilton and Jefferson’s plans differed opinionated, economically, and politically. Hamilton and his federalist standpoint were based on a strong central government, Strong national bank and an alliance with Britain. Jefferson however could be considered opposite. The anti-federalists opposed a strong central government and instead focused on a state government. They also opposed a national bank nervous it would give too much power to t he central government.
The UK constitution is quite unusual for a westernised democracy. The constitution remains uncodified and is not entrenched as parliament has political sovereignty. So you will not be able to find the constitution in
