In the mince of that I was training with to personal trainer in between the workouts during the summer. I learned how to work out with proper technique so I won’t hurt myself while lifting and help me prevent injury during the season. I also enjoyed teaching others to lift the right way and it helped the greatly because their strength greatly blossomed. It gave me the confidence that I was doing it right myself too. In the end to show my coaches before my season of my senior year that I was ready to play with the big dogs I showed my hard work.
He has high expectations from his players rather it is athletically, academically and personality. He wants to know what his players are doing all the time and wants them to be leaders on and off the field even putting them through leadership classes at the college. He believes in his coaches and his players. He micro-manages but with a meaningful purpose and that is success. He wants his whole program to be successful off and on the field and to prepare his players for life after football and he has a plan for all of
I am very interested in starting a specific service project my junior year for CAS hours and this would be a great help to me with that. I think that I would be a valuable attendee to CASL because I am a freshman. Anything I learn can be used for all the rest of my four years of high school. I would also be a valuable attendee to the CASL conference because I would easily be able to make up the work that I miss on that Monday from school. I am also one of the older ones out of all my classmates so I would like to go to CASL so that I can learn to be a better leader to those who might look up to me.
My schedule consisted of waking up early every day and taking a 1.5 mile run, followed by taking 500 jump shots, a similar exercise Kobe performed during his high school career. Conquering the fear of failure became an imaginary bond between Kobe and I. I knew that working hard all summer honed my physical and mental edge on the court. When tryouts came around, the odds were against me, as the team roster had been established, but I did my best Kobe impersonation and played harder than anyone else on the court. I made the team because just like Kobe, I wasn’t going to fail. This experience taught me to have fortitude, and to always strive for my dreams.
Being involved in an African American Heritage team taught me patience while learning. It also helped me realize what method of learning and remembering worked best for me. That team boosted my self-confidence because I did very well during the Black Heritage Bowl and my team won. I learned that a lot of hard work does pay off even when it seems impossible. LIFE EXPERIENCES As I have experienced many things in my life, I am now more prepared to go through my degree program because of my personal desire to be successful.
This goal can be measured by comparing it to the SMART goal methodology we discussed in class. SMART stands for specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely. This goal is specific because they must train and perform better each day to win the championship in the few weeks they had. It is measurable since they check each person’s time and how they progress, if one runner’s time doesn’t make it they get cut out of the top 7. Coach Newton always tells the boys however fast you run, run faster.
Staying in shape helps football players improve their physical and mental health. Football players are physically active and exercise as part of their daily lives, to benefit their well being as well as their careers. “Football players, who exercise on a regular basis, help increase their strength and flexibility, develop endurance, control weight and improve self-esteem. Healthy living and physical fitness provides players with healthy lives, also helping them live longer”, (Football for Health). As football players grow older, they benefit from the optimistic lifestyles they have created throughout their careers as athletes.
The coach teaches them about time management and self-control. The coach also teaches about being competitive and learning how to win and lose gracefully. Doctor Daniel Gould is a professor in applied sports psychology who studied many successful high school football coaches and their impact on coaching life skills as well as football itself. The coaches strongly agreed that
As result of being stronger, I am able to increase my performance in sports. I also have more endurance to perform everyday tasks. While I strengthen my muscles and bones, it also will help prevent any injuries to myself. Weight lifting makes me feel better about myself. By lifting, I feel like I am benefiting myself in mind, and body.
Physicians have seen a huge increase in “overuse injuries” among young people over the past decade, due in part to more specialization, as well as large workout loads among talented young athletes. These injuries include knee, shoulder, and stress fracture injuries. The majority of overuse injuries are relatively minor and generally heal with rest and physical therapy, however, athletes that push themselves for perfection and extreme performances are at risk for life long injuries. As well as practicing a variety of sports to develop numerous skills, young athletes need to make sure they understand the importance of cardiac health, nutrition, growth, and psychosocial development. Children that start playing sports should be exposed to a variety of sports, rather than just focus on one throughout their whole lives.
