Globalization: Positive or Negative?

Globalization is the process of interaction among the countries of the world, in order to develop the global economy. In my opinion, globalization is a positive thing, because of several reasons. To start with, it improves the quality of products as a result of global competition. In addition, with globalization, developed countries have become more involved with developing countries, helping their economies to grow and increasing their standard of living. Lastly, globalization causes the spread of cultures, providing the world many choices. First of all, globalization improves the quality of products as a result of global competition. In order to survive in the market, businesses are forced to compete on global scale, encouraging creativity and innovation and allowing the market to give consumers a better advantage. Especially the ‘customer is king’ approach to production increases the services of trade, technology growth and the world markets. Speaking at a town hall meeting in Mumbai, the president of the United States said, “Because of the incredible rise of India and China and Brazil and other countries, the US remains the largest economy and the largest market, but there is real competition. This will keep America on its toes. America is going to have to compete” (The Times of India, par.2). Secondly, with globalization, developed countries have become more involved with developing countries, helping their economies to grow and increasing their standard of living. Developing countries are able to receive the benefits of current technology. However, in receiving this technology they don’t undergo the growing pains associated with the development of these technologies. In developing countries, there is often a lack of money, which slows down the growth of domestic companies and thus, employment. Globalization provides the opportunity for developing countries
