This production shows the reality of creating a performance, with the combination of anger and laughter, constant stop and starts, and standing up for an idea. This production truly represents the nature of arguing. The stage was comprised of all multi useful props. Shown with the tin bucket and bin, the door, and tree. The tree being on wheels allowed the actors to give it multiple uses, if that was hanging costumes from it, or using it to hang lights. The bin with all the random things in gave the feel that it had been left there from rehearsals and gave the audience the impression this was going to be a truly hectic random production. This complimenting the bin with random things in, and the contrast of props on stage. Lighting was used to set mood, and gave you a hint of whom the actors were playing. Shown with normal lighting when actors were playing actors, and then when acting the characters the lighting would change to fit what was happening in that scene. For example the dream scene. This scene had soft purple lighting, then as it turned into a nightmare the colour got darker and went towards a more reddish lighting. At first giving the audience a feel of comfort with the purple, then to a red, imbedding fear. But because this being a light hearted funny production they managed to turn this into a funny nightmare. With the hilarious facial expressions from Duggen. At points I believed he was a woman. With the only costume being a vale, Michael had to rely on his body to show his character, and he did brilliantly. With his already slender body he just added some caricature features. Such as the exaggerated hip shake when walking, and the feminine mannerism. This brought comedy to the scene along with the use of ‘Gangnam Style’ as a reference to popular modern music. The production being a fast paced argument with so many climax points, was surprisingly very anti-climactic. There were huge build ups with the arguments, with the tension and shouting developing till you couldn’t hear what they were saying. Then they would just stop, and break character. However this did not break the hilarity of the production. Because when they broke character they would usually be adding more comedy.
