Family Dynamics
Family assessments can be complex and tedious at times because of the amount of information needed to identify nursing diagnoses and interventions needed for each family member. Information about the family dynamics needed range from the developmental stage and history of the family to how the family deals with stressors of life. Using the Friedman Family Assessment model family assessments have an organized method of identifying data for the developmental stage, history, environmental data, family stressors, coping mechanisms, and family composition to create nursing diagnoses and community interventions to help families (Stanhope, & Lancaster, 2008).
