Kulder is focused on tracking customer purchase behavior to improve the management of its current inventory. This project will allow Kulder to reward its shoppers for their loyalty while, providing a new ground for advertising, and improve overall profits. Other key factors are to maintain a record of the inventory that is being sold so the store can better equip products in all three locales and provide for better product placement within all Kudler stores. The design trade-off approach for the project is as follows. A trade-off for the company to increase revenue will be the expenditures for the frequent buyer program, because essentially the company will not see a return profit for an allotted time. The implemented program will allow the company to see a small profit after the first year of the program being implemented. Another trade-off for the company will be the stores performance. Because this is a newly acquired system, employees – although trained on how to operate the system will surely run into issues at the register. This will make for longer lines at the store and will require employees to handle unruly customers. The trade-off for spoilage will require the store to account for more deliveries from wholesalers for the products that will need to be stocked. This will ensure more delivery fees and more paperwork for the company. The company will have to account for promotional items that the wholesale companies may offer for products being bought. As for the other departments in the company that use computers can create the interface that best suits their needs and their business type. The POS will allow the clerks to continue business as usual with the exception of customer basic information can now be accessed from the POS screen and an area for specific notes for each customer. Inventory, Suppliers, Customers, Employees, Departments, are managed and maintained through a series of powerful databases. All of the information entered into the system are integrated and managed by each database. For security reasons Managers can control who has access to the system and each user is assigned a unique security profile that determines exactly what features and functions can be accessed. Specialized Features/Services There are several reasons for the implementation of the new system. The new system will help with controlling inventory, increase sales, and keeping track of the customer buying habits. The Loyalty program offers an excellent marketing tool for targeting customers with product specific to their buying habits. The system also provides great inventory tool to track product movement in each warehouse. Hand held scanners are also available for inventory management and sales
