Food In My Family

Food plays a very big and important role in my life. My family, even my extended relatives, have been exposed to food for years, making us love it even more. On my dad’s side, my aunt Kathy is a chef for a restaurant in the Philippines while my other aunt is currently taking up culinary in college. They both enjoy making food from scratch without following any recipes, so they basically like to make new recipes that can be passed down to our family generation. On my mom’s side, my aunt Susie loves to cook as well. Similar to my other aunt, she also took culinary as her main course in college. She enjoys to cook not only for a living but also just whenever she’s in the mood, which is pretty much every single day. As you can tell, both sides of my family have such great cooks, in my opinion, that makes my family exposed to such pleasant foods. Ever since I was little, I have always loved food. Hard to believe, but I used to be really huge when I was around 3 to about 7 or 8 years old. My mom would just keep feeding and feeding me and my weight didn’t bother me back then so I didn’t really care what I ate. And up to this day, I still continue to eat whatever I want whenever I want. I just love eating and yet thankful that I barely gain weight. My aunts have definitely influenced me to someday pursue cooking, although being a doctor is my main goal, cooking can be my side job. I definitely want to learn and achieve the talent that my aunts have because as corny as this sounds, I want to be able to cook for my future husband, just like the saying “A way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” I want to be able to pass down the tradition to my family’s younger generations.
