I just remembering walking into one of the crazy connected art classes, wondering why they were set up like that, and seeing frantic students banging on metal. Mr. Jones introduced me to the teacher, and she started ranting about how North is such a good school, and I just blew her off. Mr. Jones knew a lot of kids at North Farmington; so whenever you would see him walking around the halls, or visiting classes, he would always have a student yapping his ear off. So of course when you add up the factors Mr. Jones, plus a new student, plus a class full of kids, the answer is obvious. Students swarmed Mr. Jones and me.
RATIONALE The extended scene has been developed to discuss Springle truanting the day before. The Deputy Principal is silenced within the play therefore this extended scene introduces an extra character to the plot. Springle is the ‘bully’ at school who befriends Emmett Rosebury an unpopular kid at school who is in a wheelchair. The stereotype of a ‘bully’ is someone who is big and teases, truants, physically and verbally abuses, the typical bad kid in the school. The purpose of this extended scene is to challenge the typical stereotype of a ‘bully’ and provide Jackson Springle with an opinion of Emmett Rosebury.
Against Year Round School Argument Year round school presents a very controversial issue that school districts struggle with ever year. The same arguments, facts, and statistics are presented annually, and somehow a conclusion is never reached. Many people believe year round school would be a good change and a step in the right direction. Although there are many positive innovations to year round school, the advantages do not outweigh the disadvantages of retention, cost, breaks, vacations, space, reviews, employment, and scheduling (Political Debates and Polls Forum). The traditional calendar always has been the schedule for school since the 1800s.
The experiment spreads fast throughout the school and quickly spins out of control. Only a handful of students bother to question what is going on. Laurie’s Boyfriend, David got so caught up in the wave that he ended up hurting Laurie because of her refusal to co-operate with it. The destructive nature of power is also shown when Laurie tells Mr. Ross, “It’s taken over, you can’t say anything against it, people are afraid too.” Similar to Shaw shank Redemption, where the destructive nature of power is demonstrated throughout the whole movie, “You eat, when we say you eat. Chuck Norris VS Mr Campbell Chapter #1 (Pre-school) Mr Campbell walks into his pre-school class room to see a class full of children his age. He is very excited at first, he looks over at one of the tables and cracks a joke because one student had a mullet that looked like a beaver had died on his head. When the narrator and his classmates arrive to the battle royal night, they are forced to watch a naked woman, a blonde, white woman with an American flag painted on her stomach. They feel uncomfortable but some of the white men demand that the black boys look at her and others threaten them if they don’t. “They caught her just as she reached a door, raised her from the floor, and tossed her as college boys are tossed at a hazing, and above her red, fixed-smiling lips I saw the terror and disgust in her eyes, almost like my own terror and that which I saw in some of the other boys” (p.236). At this point, the young man recognizes that he must watch her dance, even though he doesn’t want to. That reflects what is going on right now in society, as some situation people have to something that they don’t want to do.
He voices his opinion on how high school was, how high school is now, and how it could make or break your next four years from all the upsets, hardships and bullying. Fifty years ago, things were way different than how they are today. Kids had to go to school and were respectful to their peers or they would get in a huge amount of trouble, kids were expected to help their parents around the house or does some yard work outside. Nowadays kids do nothing and expect so much in return. If they do not get what they want when they want it, usually they will pitch a fit or they will not speak to their parents and the end result of that situation is the kid ends up getting it.
