The New Moon film poster main goal is to advertise and promote the film itself. The images used and colour combination intrigue an audience into the wider connotations and subliminal messages it sends to an audience. Unlike a majority of film posters this specific uses multiple actors to promote the film. This could come down to the fact that twilight is still relatively new to the population and they use multiple actors because non of them were that big in the celebrity world before twilight was released therefore they have used multiple actors to cover a wider audience. It could also be a result of the fact that some people have formed the ‘Team Jacob’ versus ‘Team Edward’ so they are catering to both sides of the fans. The reason for the female actress is due to the fact this film is main audience is females and they would probably love to be in the middle of Edward and Jacob and have them fighting over them. This tunes into the human imagination and gives the audience that little something extra. The first of the actors I decided to analyse was Edward Cullen, on the left. Edward seems to be almost pushed out of the picture and the other two seem to be in there own little world. However by placing Edward (Robert Pattinson) at the front of the poster will attract a lot of viewers because he has been seen in magazines and the number one sexiest man and still remains in the top ten to this day. An audience is generally attracted to films with attractive actors. Edward has been clothed in dark and sinister colours, which reminds the audience despite his beautiful and irresistible appearance he is in fact some ways evil, the nature of a vampire is a blood sucking fiend. Although in the film he is a so called ‘vegetarian’ vampires have an evil connotation. We are also reminded that he isn’t necessarily a bad guy because if we pay attention to the tension in his hand
