Jory Marini-Berry AP language Lake Placid was always a place I enjoyed as a kid because we had a hockey tournament there each year. I loved the ride up. It had a relaxing array of scenery that I didn't get to see often. Thinking of those trips brings back good memories that are filled with jokes, music, and stories. My dad and I normally made fun of each other and had everyone else in stitches.
Hockey Night In Canada: A Bloody Big Deal For years, Hockey Night In Canada on CBC has been a longtime staple in my life. After a long week of school and countless hours of homework, I found an immediate escape with Hockey Night In Canada. It’s something that any typical Canadian hockey fan could look forward to each and every week. I’ve seen it all during Hockey Night in Canada and have witnessed some of the greatest moments in both NHL and International hockey history. I remember longtime Montreal Canadiens captain Saku Koivu returning from cancer at the Bell Centre in 2001 and the 8-minute standing ovation he received from the hometown crowd, even managing to get the opposing players to applaud.
Miracle Recovery December 15, 2006, a family decided to rent out a cabin in Big Bear for the weekend to have a blast not knowing what one of the family members had coming for them. Everyone had been so excited and had been looking forward to this trip for weeks. Finally when the day came and everyone arrived to Big Bear, the family was so eager about going out to play in the snow because they had never seen it before; so they decided to go out that very same day and find a spot they thought was open and safe. Unfortunately, after the first 30 minutes, one of them had an accident playing in the snow and had to be rushed to the emergency room by the paramedics. Everyone was so frightened; they did not know how bad the accident was.
I invest hundreds of hours a year into it, and every two years I get the opportunity to take a trip with my highschool marching band to somewhere special. This year Disney was chosen so that we could march in one of Disney's well known parades. Disney and Colorgaurd combined pretty much make up the trip of my dreams. I mean who wouldn't want to go to Disney World with dozens of your closest friends? I found out a few weeks ago that my family could not financially send my brother and I on this

A few beers later and we were ready to hit the hay to take on the next day. I ended up driving back to Parsons with my Aunt, Uncle and cousin because my grandparents had no vacancy at their house. Before leaving, my cousin and I grabbed our rifles so that we could head straight to the field the next morning. I was very anxious, excited, and nervous; therefore, I got little sleep that night. I’ve been hunting deer for almost a decade and never once have I had the opportunity to shoot an eye-dropping trophy buck.
The holiday of Thanksgiving, although celebrated yearly in my family, has been incredibly inconsistent throughout my life. All other major holidays, such as Christmas, Easter and The Fourth of July, have been held in the same place for as long as I can remember. Both sides of my family celebrate Christmas at my house every year. My family always goes to my Aunt Ellen’s house for Easter and to Lake Geneva for the Fourth of July. These are just some of the many traditions that my family hold, but one that we do not is the location of Thanksgiving dinner.
This past weekend I was able to take a trip out to Charlottesville Va to see the Monticello which is the home of Thomas Jefferson. I had a wonderful time there and I loved all of the views that you get of the great mountain sides inside the house. I took a trip out there to see my old high school football team play in the State Championship game. It’s a little expensive to see the house, it cost us 17 dollars a piece to get a tour of the beautiful place, and it was well worth every penny. The whole place is great from the welcome center, Shops and the Monticello it’s self.
