This paper focuses on the violence done on mothers by their partners. It displays the effect of the said violence to the children of these mothers, who experience seeing the violence being done to their mothers. That experience may have detrimental effects to these children, physically, emotionally and psychologically. Intimate partner violence (IPV) is physical, emotional or sexual abuse done against a current or former spouse, sexual partner, girl/boyfriend, or by parties with a child in common. The usual targets of this kind of violence are women that are most likely, injured.
Effects of Child Abuse Tens of thousands of children are suffering each year due to domestic violence by their parents or guardians. Child abuse can result in poor outcomes. Domestic violence is existent in all cultures, homes, communities of faith, etc. Physical abuse refers to any behavior that involves the intentional use of force against the body of another person that risks physical injury, harm, and/or pain (Dutton, 1992). Most children are experiencing verbal assaults that are mainly insulting their outward appearances, threats from bullies who want to inflict the pain they feel on someone other than themselves, pushing, shoving, grabbing, and slapping from children who are more than likely physically abused at home, threats involving the intended use or actual use of knives and guns which are usually gang related, and theft.

How can we as victims, witnesses, or observers make a change to cyberbullying ? Many parents seem to question their child’s actions on a day-to-day basis. Signs of bullying are things we must observe. Students may come home with damaged or missing items, have difficulty sleeping, or just seemed depressed. The reports on cyberbullies, ruined reputations and dangers have caused so much fear against parents.
Teen homelessness is alarmingly high in the United States. “Approximately 1.6 million youth ages twelve to seventeen had run away from home and slept on the street in the past twelve months.” (1800Runaway.org) Fifty-percent of those teens will be trafficked for sex in the first forty-eight hours of leaving home. (National Runaway Hotline) Members of society often think that runaway kids are disobedient and rebellious, preferring to live on the streets rather than following the rules. The most prevalent reason children and teens runaway is because of the maltreatment they experience at the hands of parents or caregivers. Eighty percent of runaway and homeless girls reported having ever been sexually or physically abused.
