Plaguing the sidewalks and alley ways of most major cities, the homeless are often looked down upon with tattered clothes, lack of personal grooming and hygiene which leaves them less appealing. They can often be found standing outside the supermarket or convenient mart; they are even at the exits of interstates asking for change
"There are no secret economics that nourish the poor; on the contrary, there are a host of special costs. If you can't put up the two months' rent you need to secure an apartment, you end up paying through the nose for a room by the week…you eat fast food or the hot dogs and Styrofoam cups of soup that can be microwaved in a convenience store . . .you go without routine care or prescription drugs and end up paying the price." Ehrenreich stated that in the book.
There have also been times that I have left a substantial tip for excellent service so it was easy to see both sides. In my experience of not leaving a tip, I have not had an experience as horrifying as being run over by a person who did not receive a tip. All I can say to that is in today's society, tipping is becoming a part of the electronic transaction. The debit or credit recite now shows a line where a tip can be charge to a card. Charging a tip makes the tip less obvious and the government is able to effectively record earnings for
Of course, this is not the case. These companies are for-profit companies with nothing but profit and the bottom line in mind. The amount of profit depends on how much the contract pays as opposed to how much of that money is spent on salaries, facilities, security, and training. The less output, the greater the profit. Governments have always justified such contracting as a means of saving taxpayer dollars and private prisons have historically been able to operate on less money thus saving taxpayer dollars.
The use of plea bargain has many aspects to it most of them are good but also some of them are bad. Some of the positive outcomes of a plea bargain are less money spent, less time in courts, a considerably low sentence for the defendant and a much faster and productive criminal system. In trials, attorneys make a lot of money and that is good for them but not for their clients. A person can save a lot of money if they reach a plea bargain because lawyer fees range from the hundreds to thousands of dollars and going to trial can get very expensive. The advantage for the defense is that less work is required on their part and they typically receive the same amount of money in return.
There are some generous people for whom that greenbacks cup have been placed over there. According to Lewis’ in second paragraph, the people has two minds about this plastic cup. There is a thought that people who serves you might be doing more likely and promptly if they believe they will rewarded for it. Surely, no one wants to be one of those people who benefit from the certain hop to the worker’s step that the prospect of a tip has arguably induced without paying your fair share of the cost. In paragraph seven, the second problem with tipping which Lewis’ is discussing, about how tip is loosing its own place.
Even I cannot get a good health care here, how about the homeless? Can’t believe that, there are too much homeless here. When you walk through the downtown of many cities in California, like San Francisco you can see homeless people everywhere. Usually they sit on the street and begging for changes from people. The only thing they have might be just a piece of blanket or a weak dirty dog.
His wait staff average salary was not very high (he would not give me any specific numbers), but they made most of their money off tips. Staff members are supposed to report their tip income so that they can pay the correct taxes. However, most wait staff employees only reported tips on meals paid by credit card and maybe a minor percentage of the cash tips. With the remaining cash tips, they did not report any income. When I asked John if he knew whether this was happening or if you just suspected it, he said that he knew and did not stop his wait staff from doing it.
A few weeks ago I went to dinner with a few friends. At the conclusion of the meal I offered to pay. The waitress presented me with the check and I immediately noticed a mistake. The check was for far less than I anticipated. I told the waitress that she had given me the wrong check and that my check should have been for much more.
And you wonder how these people can do this every day of their life. Everyone goes on with their little happy life’s not thinking twice about a person who is hungry every day in this world. The cause of a lot of homeless people are not enough jobs, not enough houses or houses you can afford I should say. People complain everyday about what they get paid but if you put a homeless person in that job they wouldn’t care what they got paid as long as they got a meal for that day. That is what is wrong with this world today.
