An example of how I use critical thinking in the workplace and the benefits and importance of using critical thinking when making a decision. According to dictionary.com, Critical thinking is defined as the “mental process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating information to reach an answer or conclusion” (2012 ). Critical thinking can also mean correct thinking into pursuit of relevant and reliable knowledge about the world. It is reasonable, reflective, responsible, and skillful thinking that focuses on decisions based on what to do.

This differs from two-parent families in that there is only one adult to take care of all of life’s responsibilities rather than two. Bills need to be paid, food needs to be taken care of, etc. These two responsibilities alone take a good amount of time to complete and once finished, the parent is usually too tired or stressed to engage in healthy interaction. Apparently, this problem has not been addressed or the current system of teacher recruitment and retention is not working. Most research supports the fact that fewer teachers are produced each year for special education as opposed to regular education. Special education teachers are leaving the field at a higher rate than general education teachers. Why? Special education teachers can easily become overwhelmed by the outrageous number of responsibilities in their jobs--managing IEP’s ( Individualized Education Plans) completing mountains of paperwork, administering alternative assessments, dealing with the increasing numbers of advocates and attorneys, providing assistive technologies, staying informed about complex legislation.
Many EMGs are classed as working class families meaning social deprivation can often happen. The lack of money can often mean that families cannot afford the extra things which may aid their child in education. These are things could be as simple as books or stationary or not owning a computer, therefore having no access to the internet. As working class EMG families are on low incomes, children may not have the same experiences as working class children, missing out on holidays and trips to places such as museums and galleries. Many EMG children also do not have that initial push of how important education is for them.
As far as the educational systems within the juvenile justice system there also is a lack of funding to appropriately educate the offenders. Many of the offenders are drop outs needing the basic fundamental educational tools. With the economy and lack of funding, minimal supplies, man hours for teaching staff and curriculum are appearing to be viewed as sub-standard, and below the bare
