Comparative effectiveness research has proven itself to be an important component in health care for identifying the best and most cost-effective interventions and standardizing their use. “A Comparative Effectiveness Research System (CER System) is a mechanism for synthesizing research about different medical interventions and translating it into guidelines for or restrictions on the use of different types of therapies, in an attempt to maximize good outcomes for patients” (Jonas, 278). The main goal of the CER System is to maintain and standardize quality and of health care and control the costs. In the comparative effectiveness research system, researchers can compare the benefits and harms of treatments, procedures, medications, and many more aspects in healthcare to see which one is more effective in preventing, diagnosing, treating, or even monitoring patients conditions. Treatments and procedures can be very different depending on the situation, and the comparative effectiveness research system develops the most effective approach to every situation.
Assessment Tool Analysis Paper NUR 440 February 7, 2011 Peggy Taylor Assessment Tool Analysis Paper Assessment tools are used to evaluate, and help in intervening with a patient’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. They enable a nurse or other medical practitioners to help the vulnerable to make more informed choices that will make their life better. Assessment tools can be useful in improving the family dynamics, building more cohesive relationships, and promoting healthier lifestyles. There are of many of these assessment tools, some more effective than others, and it is the responsibility of the practitioner to see which is more likely to fit the dynamic of whatever situation one is attempting to resolve. The three assessment tools that I have selected are as follows: the family adaptability and cohesion scale, the Calgary family assessment model, and the health promoting lifestyle profile II.
Health departments have been encouraging the development of EBP so the most effective health care is being used and so the best benefits come out of it (Xiaoshi, 2008, p.6-12). This encouraging is showing to be effective because there are many cases of using evidence-based practice in the medical field. Health care providers are being assisted in taking on evidence-based practice while having the guidelines for clinical practice. An example of challenging the traditional work routine is when a clinical question about the administering of intramuscular injections
Quality Management Assessment Summary HCS/451 Quality Management Assessment Summary The health field has many different parts that help make it run smooth; one important factor is quality management. Quality management in healthcare has evolved over the year to address increased demands from consumers related to the quality of care and services, as well as to address problems in patients’ outcomes (McLaughlin, & Kaluzny, 2006). Quality management is best described as a systematic and continuous process that organizations use to deliver products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations (McLaughlin, & Kaluzny, 2006). The following assessment will help in defining quality care, and mention key concepts of quality management that are used within a nursing facility. The following assessment will also help with making some short and long-term goals, and will also target any internal and external factors that may affect the nursing facility to reach any potential and set goals.
* It helps to achieve high level of performance and better quality standards. * It also achieves real time access to rate the clients. The United health care designs a program that evaluates the quality and cost effective performance system. Performance results to increase transparency and decision making. It helps to meet both quality and cost effective measures by patients.
Health Information Exchange Professor Crossley Ebony Drummond October 21, 2013 Health Information Exchange The Electronic health information exchange helps medical professionals such as Nurses, doctors, pharmacist and other health care providers. This system also allows patients to properly access and safely shares the patient’s medical records efficiently, bettering speed, quality and the cost of patient care. Electronic health information exchange cannot replace intercommunication between the patient and the patient’s physician, but it can greatly improve the completeness of patients medical record in which cam effect the care positively, current medications and other information that is carefully abstracted during visits. Sharing patient records properly will better inform decision making at a certain point of care. This can allow providers to avoid re-admission, avoiding medication errors, lower duplication testing and improve diagnosis.
It can be used concurrently and is updated continuously. EHR can provide medical alerts and reminders, such as abnormal lab results. The EHR also allows specialty groups to have customized screens, which makes it more flexible. It can also be used to improve risk management outcomes. Finally, it will provide more accurate billing information and it will allow providers to submit their claims electronically.
Structure measurements can be achieved when research is given properly. When a facility has the proper accreditation programs in healthcare, it is important that performance of healthcare organization can improve the quality and safety of their services at all times. There is always room for improvement in healthcare. Where accreditation is concerned it has specific things that regulate, provide, third parties and customers in healthcare use similar programs. Given the factors when the data is collected the experts are from all over the world then can conduct the interview.
Academic and Professional Goals Alan M. Gavami Walden University Dr. Miriam Ross Academic and Professional Goals Currently, I make positive societal change with one patient at a time by showing genuine care and understanding of how they are different with different needs. This is one reason of several that I chose Walden University, since Walden has a keen awareness and teaching on multicultural competence, I find this to be Paramount. Managers in today’s healthcare environment are much more involved in management, planning, cost containment and efficiency, while providing a better work environment for the hospital staff, and better care for the patients and their family. The skills I expect to gain through getting my master’s with Walden University should give me the ability to recognize and understand problems we face on daily bases in the healthcare system. With this knowledge I plan to work toward a more cost effective and delivery system with healthcare provided to the patient population.
Health promotion enables people to increase control over their health and to improve their health, which does not rely solely on one discipline of health but is rather a multidisciplinary scope that intertwines health education and health interventions and involves individuals, family, communities, state and federal government. The goal of health promotion is to enhance value in health, lessen the health risks, advocate for healthy lifestyles and settings, and respond to the underlying determinants of health. Implementation of Health Promotion Implementing health promotion is a key factor in promoting wellness and preventing illness. Chronic diseases in the United States have a major impact and
