3 Key Events That Defined My Life When I was growing up, I never really understood how my past would define my future. I’ve been through a lot of things good and bad that made me a better person. Growing up I had to learn that it’s not about pleasing others but, pleasing yourself. So, I stared doing things that I knew wasn’t right. I wanted to whatever I wanted to do to fit in. As I was doing these things something on the inside of me was telling me that I deserved more and that I could make something better for my future. So, after I started feeling this tugging in my heart, I gave my life to Christ. I turned from my old ways and started doing things God’s way. And from then on I am a new person. The beginning of my change was when I got fired from my old job at the daycare. Right to this day I never really understood how I got fired. I had the same routine for 2 years but, that day was different. Now I look back and I realize it was all part of God’s plan. So after I got fired, I found out that I was sick and didn’t know it. So was dehydrated and didn’t have anything in my body among other things. The doctors didn’t understand how I was pulling threw and how I didn’t fall out but, God is a good God. At that time I was going to Cosmetology school. When I got out of the hospital I dropped out of Cosmetology school and enrolled at Miller-Motte which was the best decision that I ever made for my future . I wanted a career that I could fall back on 20 years from now. I didn’t want to get rid of all the old things so, that I could look forward to all the great things that God has in store. So, I broke it off with a past mate. Breaking off that relationship gave me the confidence to realize that I didn’t need to settle for less than I deserve. I didn’t want anything to stand in my way.
