Ethics gain from personal experience. Ethics are derived from values. Values help individuals to choose ethically. Therefore, ethics provides the structure for conduct. Ethical issues vary from legal issues because ethical issues are individualistic and legal issues are embodied in a system that governs society.

Gen 200 Ethical Lens Inventory As humans we all have a set of core values that we apply when resolving ethical conflict, understanding others as well as our own decision making strategies allows us to respect each others point of view better. Ethical Lens Inventory is used as way to identify what values are more important to you as an individual and what their challenges and strengths are. The inventory allows you to see ethical issues clearly and learn how to resolve them better. Being aware that people have different priorities and different values helps to respects each other’s point of views. My personal preferred lens is Rights/responsibility and results lens.
These codes share similarities in that the both are written to protect the client and set specific guidelines for effective professional counseling. It should be noted that counselors have the responsibility to understand the codes of ethics and observed them to the fullest. The code is only as effective as the professionals that utilize its principles. On my beliefs, I think every body has a moral right to experience the [“good life”]. However, ethics are playing a very important part at the people life. The results of my awareness Inventory originated my ethical perspective to be based on the result (R) or consequences of my actions.
Listening with an empathic ear and utilizing some intervention or other techniques to help people change their views about their circumstances is challenging but can be achieved through a lot of hard work and good communication. Verbal and non-verbal communication sends messages to both interviewer and interviewee. This is important because messages can be misinterpreted. It is so important to keep an open mind when interpreting the different aspects of communication. The human service staff must work together, and if there are any differences with the different styles of human service work, and staff then it should be resolved in calm and appropriate way.
Ethical Lens Inventory and Reflection My preferred lens is Rights and Responsibility. According to the game, I use my reasoning skills to determine my duties as well as the universal rules that each person should follow. My core value is independence and Rationality. My primary concern is protecting individual rights and believe that by doing this everyone in the community is treated fairly. I value rationality over sensibility.
In a court case it is important to be able to describe your process and the tools used in the process. As an export witness your ability do describe your process to provide effective evidence is crucial so that there is no doubt that the evidence is original and untempered with. Finally it is important to maintain a positive reputation. As an expert witness it is important to be accurate, truthful and impartial. When performing the work as a forensic export it is crucial to be accurate and meticulous in your process.
This can be hard to accomplish when individuals misperceive what is morally right with other moral agents such as self-interest, personal desires, and peer/community beliefs. “Because of complexities such as these, ethically motivated individuals must learn the art of self-critique, of moral self-examination, to become attuned to the pervasive everyday pitfalls of moral judgment: moral intolerance, self-deception, and uncritical conformity. The rules and principles of critical thinking do apply to ethics because they both follow the same guidelines. Critical Thinking helps people determine for themselves whether something is right or wrong. It is a form of analysis and determination of fact vs. fiction, identifying the unknown and coming to an understanding.
