I am here to talk to you today about the death of Romeo and Juliet, and who is to blame for the scandalous death the suspects are Friar Lawrence or Juliet’s nurse. I believe it is Friar Lawrence to blame and I will explain why he is to blame for their deaths throughout this speech. Firstly Friar Lawrence had given Juliet a poison only to stimulate an extreme coma and, to make her breathing and heartbeat slow down. This was chosen to be done therefore a heartbeat can’t be detected but on the other hand Friar Lawrence acted thoughtless, selfish and shockingly. This was a risk that he had given Juliet the sleep like death poison that he had taken a risk. This brought on more problems Lord Capulet had put his trust in the Friar to guide Juliet and help her. He thought by marring Romeo and Juliet it would bring the Capulets and the Montagues closer and peace would be made. But Lord Capulet wanted Juliet to marry County Paris, she didn't want to marry because it would be a sin, when she is still married to Romeo. This is when Friar Lawrence’s plan had capsized. Finally Juliet had gone to the Friar for help, his plan had also become disastrous. This time the plan was to fake Juliet’s death and send a letter to Romeo to inform him her death was false but to come and rescue her from her tomb but the letter was sent to Romeo. Word had spread that Juliet had died, he rushed to see her, then killed himself seeing Juliet in her false death. After Juliet had woken from her sleep like death, only to see Romeo dead in front of her then which caused her to kill herself. I think Friar Lawrence is to blame for Romeo’s and Juliet’s death because he gave poison married Romeo and Juliet without consent. Some people may disagree because he was trying to help them and didn't know his plan would result in Romeos and Juliet’s
