My hopes for my paper are to persuade the readers that texting while driving s a dangerous activity. To persuade them that the consequences of texting while driving outweigh the benefits of reading a text message behind the wheel. A text message is not worth dying or causing harm to others
Texting while driving is irresponsible and extremely dangerous, not only to the driver texting, but to everyone close by. It only takes a second for a disaster to occur on the highways, and texting takes the driver's attention off the road for more than a second. Texting or calling while driving has the potential to cause a serious car accident that can have fatal results. Speaking on a cell phone is already illegal in many states. Texting while driving is even more dangerous.
You could have easily injured or killed someone else or yourself. On top of it all, you are to blame for causing the accident. The whole situation could have been avoided if you had waited until you reached your destination before looking at your phone. Distracted driving has become a serious problem within the past decade due to the prevalence of distractions such as portable music players, talking on cell phones, and text messaging. A split second glance away from the road is all it takes for disaster to strike while driving.
Stop Texting & Driving Purpose: To persuade my audience to stop using their cell phones while driving a vehicle because it is irresponsible and extremely dangerous. Specific Purpose: Using a cell phone while driving is not only dangerous to you, but others on the road and is one of the top reasons today for car accidents. I am like most people where I have texted while driving, but after I got into an accident a couple years back because I was distracted by texting, I rethought the level of importance of texting while driving. There are many similarities and differences between texting while driving and drinking while driving. Some of these differences and similarities would have to be that they both are illegal, they both impair the driver and they both cause accidents, injuries and death. Please let me remind you that they are both very dangerous and many people do them both every day. However, one can be more dangerous than the other, but I let you, the reader, decide which one is the most dangerous based upon the comparison and contrast I will make regarding texting while driving and drinking while driving. Both texting while driving and drinking while driving is illegal in all the United States.
I think the original purpose of the image is to really get the point across that people should not text while driving. It is trying to get peoples attention to ask them “is a text really worth looking at while you are driving, it cannot wait?” So the creator is trying to argue to stay away from texting and driving because losing your life or causing an accident just because of a text is not worth it. Pathos As you take a look at this picture different types of emotions and feelings go through your head. The emotion that the picture itself portrays for people to see is pain. The way the car is smashed to together just shows how hard the two cars collided together.
Do you want to be the cause of a fatal car accident while you walk away all fine and the other driver died because of you? No text is worth dying over cause of silly mistakes of the driver and the other drivers on the road who is texting. Texting while driving is like driving drunk. Emotions are running wild, and stress and peer pressure can cause teens to make bad decisions such as drinking and driving. Teens tend to take more risks as they are easily influences by friends, the media, and their own emotions. (Loughry, 2004) Drinking and driving is another leading cause of fatal car accidents among adolescents. When teens drive after drinking alcohol, they are more likely than adults to be involved in a car accident, even when driving less alcohol than adults.
Cell Phones and Driving: Teenagers on the road, as it is, pose an extremely huge risk. However teenagers on the road with cellular devices, now that is suicide, unsafe, contingent, and problematic. Another name for this issue is called “Distracted Driving”. Distracted driving (according to distraction.gov) is any activity that could divert a person's attention away from the primary task of driving. All distractions endanger driver, passenger, and bystander safety, the main points of distracted driving were going to look at are those that involves: •Texting • Using a cell phone or Smartphone Nevertheless, it does not matter what you call the situation.
If I do no put my seatbelt on me would get a ticket. The ticket does not prevent the accident. If anything it makes you angry and nervous and more susceptible to get into an accident. So it is with any doubt in my mind that tickets for us not putting seatbelts on are senseless and useless.
