Many people question why it is that Edward Snowden leaked the documents showing what the NSA was doing. In the article “The Geeks who Leak” MichaelKelley Scherer quotes Edward Snowden saying “The public needs to decide whether these programs and policies are right or wrong". Edward Snowden feels that we should have a right to say whether what the NSA and Government does it right or wrong and whether we want hem to interfere in our personal lives when I comes so social media or not. He has been charged with theft of government property, unauthorized communication of national defense information and willful communication of classified communications intelligence information to an unauthorized person. Two of these three charges violates the Espionage act of 1917 which was intended to criminalize individuals who engaged in spying.
No firewall can be a disaster for Huffman Trucking because it allows hackers to get in and have access to organization’s valuable information. Firewall must be implemented at this branch also from protection from hackers. A firewall blocks unauthorized access and allow authorized users. Firewalls can be implemented in hardware or software to ensure unauthorized Internet users are blocked from accessing Huffman Trucking’s private network (Wikipedia, 2009). Ohio Office/Plant.
While they too are there to prevent crime, their effectiveness is related to their motivation and other factors. Malls hire security to prevent and catch shoplifters and assist with emergencies. Now, security guards can only be effective if they want to be. If the goals are set to high and the employee can not reach them then there is a problem. For example, one guard for a multi-story mall might become an issue, or the lack of training is another way the security programs can be affected when it comes to providing security for stores.
Customers are trusting each merchant not to release their personal information to anyone, or entity that could potentially use their address or phone numbers in a harmful way. As stated by Valdez (2014), “Loyalty programs depend on the collection of customer information, which is used to personalize marketing campaigns, recommendations and discounts.” (para. 1). Therefore, customers should not be placed on a mailing list or calling list unless they approve the release of information to third parties with their signature of understanding and confirmation. Ethical Concerns Valdez (2014) advises, “Loyalty programs that reward decision makers may run into ethical issues when the decision maker is separate from the payer.” (para.
The use of such software would provide convenience for employees, by saving them time by not having to ask for ID from customers. It would make it less likely that people could successfully use fake IDs if they are underage and their correct details are already stored on the computer. For the company it could also prevent the legal problems which may occur if they sell alcohols and cigarettes to minors impact company. If they do this they could face legal ramifications and fines, but with the use of such technology this is less likely analysis. However they would have notify customers of the use of the technology in their stores, as underage people may wish to avoid the stores which could lead to a decrease in sales from the stores who use the system.
The judge appreciated the right to privacy as envisioned under the constitution but argued that the value of intelligence outweighed the right. He therefore arrived at a conclusion that the exercise conducted by NSA in collecting personal and telephone data was merited for security purpose. He further stated that the data was purely collected with the intention of protecting the same people from
2.01 By what I have read in the article I have notice that most of these statements are true and that the advertisement does affect the price of a product or service. When people watch or look at something like a video or picture or hear something when they find it in the store they well remember that product/Service and maybe even try it because they know about it. At time when the product isn’t advertised it is purchased, but not as much as the items they are. That is because they are unfamiliar with it or the way it looks. There is a saying that goes “don’t judge a book by its cover” but that’s exactly what consumers do.
Just like a bank account, if you can see on-line where your money is going then you can better avoid overdrawing your account. For your credit report, if you can see when a negative remark hits your credit report you can make sure to fix it so that it does not report negative again. If a fraudulent remark is reported on your report then you can also dispute the claim sooner so that it doesn’t affect your report long term. Consumers have the right to know exactly what is being told about them from business to business. If it is going to affect their lives in such a great way then they should be allowed to view their report free of charge any time they
Norm Violation The social norm that I chose to violate was to go into Wal-mart and instead of waiting in line I would cut in front of people at the self checkout. I would tell them that I had less items and asked if I could get in front of them. In normality a person will wait in line and regardless of how many items a person has it is the norm that whoever gets there first gets that spot in line. The reason I choose to violate this particular social norm was because I know how I would feel if someone did this and I was curious as to what would happen. I decided to enact my plan at wal-mart in Fort-Wayne, a different city than where I live.
Searching in a specific database, such as Ashford’s library, is different from searching in Bing, Google, or Yahoo. As our text states there are two different kind of databases that handle information online. One being public domain database, were anyone can post information for viewers to view. Again some may mislead the reader, also the information may be from their point of view and one sided. The other database used to gather information proprietary, which is one that you must subscribe to.
