I stretch out feeling the relaxed satisfaction of warm, lengthened muscles atop of soft woven cotton. I take a deep breath, reveling in the salty ocean smell that relaxes my body. I turn to listen to the chorus of the waves crashing ashore and the singing of the seagulls above me. I join in, humming my own tune to add to their melody. Nearby, palm trees wave at me from above welcoming me to their home.
I had noticed that the sky was extremely clear and the birds seemed happy about the weather because they were flying every where and going from tree to tree. I wasn’t sure whether they were looking for food to eat or they were just playing. It was such an artistic view, everything seemed to go well together like the colors, sounds, etc. while sitting by the stream, I noticed a golden glistening color as the sun reflected on the surface of the water. Since art is one of my hobbies I found the view that I saw to be very artistic as I mentioned previously in the first paragraph.
* Reliable. The assessor should have an understanding and competence within the subject they are assessing this is called occupational competence. When undergoing hypnosis, an induction is required to ensure that the subject is sufficiently relaxed to experience the process fully. The way in which the induction is presented to the patient may be dependent on the hypnotist. Advocates of a more personalised approach believe that
They may have certain preconceptions of hypnotism from how it is often portrayed in the media and for entertainment purposes etc and so the initial consultation enables the therapist to walk the client through the processes involved in hypnotherapy and to explain how it can help the client and hopefully alleviate any fears that the client may have so that the client feels comfortable and safe (Allen P Roger 2004).. The initial consultation will also set out the foundations of the relationship between the client and therapist that is hopefully based on trust and understanding so that the client and the therapist both achieve the best results from the therapy (Allen P Roger 2004). During the initial consultation it is important that the client feels comfortable and calm and often the consultation room plays a role in how the client will feel during
* They come from different cultural backgrounds and not have the same upbringings. These factors have provided us with different outlooks, values and perspectives. There are many techniques that we use to fit the right language to suit the person’s personality as well as their individuality. For the client to relax, its necessity that a hypnotic induction must always have the use of positive words and feelings, such as "you are more relaxed than you ever felt before". Gives out the positive vibe the client needs to make them comfortable.
However, this also means that the patients will have to show more of the desired behaviour in order to receive the reward. The desired behaviours are asses by the staff that work with the patients on the wards and they decide whether or not, if the patient deserves a reward, or has shown the correct behaviour to be eligible to get that token. Staff may also take away tokens if they wish to punish certain behaviours. As a result of this, there should be an increase in the desired behaviour in those who have the mental disorders. The effectiveness of the TEPs have been shown by many psychologist such as Zimbardo who used long term inpatients and saw that there was an increase in the targeted behaviours in the institution, however, the improvements disappeared after the patient was discharged which shows that TEPs may not be as effective when treating patients when they come out of institutions such as hospitals.
A Personalised induction will always be more effective Introduction In my essay I will argue that I think a personalised induction will always be more effective. Main Essay Reasons for a Personalised Induction What is a Personalised Induction? A personalised induction is a hypnotic induction tailored to suit a specific individual. We use them because people are individuals and deserve the personal touch. I think there are many reasons why a personalised induction is more effective.
Abstract As a challenge to the incumbent directive and interpretive approaches of behaviourism and psychoanalysis therapies, person-centered therapy has revolutionised the direction of counselling theory and practice. As the name implies, person-centered approach views clients as the ultimate agents for self-change. It assumes that humans are essentially positively motivated and can be trusted to make their own decisions to shape, direct and take responsibility for the way they live their lives. Since its conceptualization by Carl Rogers, person-centered therapy has yield successful treatment outcomes across the world. However, as with all therapies, there are inherent strengths and weaknesses.
