Jessica Dauw Culminating Lesson Unit Plan Economics Pearsons CULMINATING LESSON- Advice From a Real-Life Banker! I. Standard: None for this lesson- Special Presentation II. Objectives: TLW listen to a special presentation given by a friend of a teacher who is a banker. He will give the students advice on how to save money. III. Anticipatory Set: TBD by banker and myself. IV. Input Task Analysis: 1) We will listen to the banker speak. 2) We will read Wendy's World handout on what money does in a bank. Thinking Levels: Why is it important to save money? What happens if I don't save money? What is a good amount to save if I do earn money? How much is okay to spend for fun? Learning styles: Visual and auditory learners will benefit from the story and discussion. Differentiated Instruction: None Methods and Materials: 42 copies of "Wendy's World" handout Crayons V. Modeling: After listening to the presentation, we will answer the Thinking Level questions. VI. Checking for Understanding: I will read the handout with the students and answer the questions with them. VII. Guided Practice: TLW listen to a special presentation given by a friend of a teacher who is a banker. He will give the students advice on how to save money, along with teaching them about spending, saving, and investing. VIII. Independent Practice: None IX. Closure: I will thank the students for their attention to the unit and then ask them to fill out the Student Rubric on how they felt about the unit. X. Assessment: None. XI. Reflection:
