Formative Assessment in tracking learner progress Formative assessment (assessment for learning) is engaged during a course or programme. This is the type of assessment used and it allows teachers to adjust targets and objectives to suit the student until they develop skills and become more confident. Formative assessment is usually informal (Formative informal) and can take place at any time during the teaching and learning process. Feedback from formative assessment will be beneficial to both student and teacher as it not only allows the student to recognize their success and look at areas for development but it allows the teacher to evaluate the effectiveness of their teaching and look to improve on future sessions. Formative assessment is often seen as being motivational as it can be seen as a review rather than an assessment.

Formative Assessment · Formative assessments are used to com pile an overall picture of a child on their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement in any given curriculum area. This can also apply outside the curriculum area. · These types of assessment are done on a daily basis by both the TA and teacher. · Formative assessment are used by the TA in areas such as FLS, Springboard to assess what the child already knows and what areas the child needs to know and most cases the best possible way of teaching this. This is monitored through observations, completed pieces of work and verbal/ oral conversations with the children.
Encouraging and establishing student self-control through a process of promoting positive student achievement and behavior is what every classroom needs. Classroom rules and procedures should be established with students the first week of school. Each student should have full understanding and be aware of what is expected of him/her. Providing a safe learning environment where students can participant is a key factor in classroom management. A student needs to feel comfortable with themselves, others, and the teacher, so there can be meaningful discussion and interactions.
I believe that students also need to learn about effective communication strategies primarily in school so that they can find ways to work together with their teachers and peers to find academic success. The successful methods of communicating that is learnt in school can be carried out in communicating with others out side of school as well. Within the classroom I encourage
Planning concerning how teaching and learning should take place should be linked to the whole school development plan. The curriculum forms the core of the school, and its implementation must support the school's vision and mission. The school management team and professional staff must do a SWOT analysis to determine the needs they should focus on in a particular phase. Other stakeholders, such as the learners, parents and community should also give their input in the process of selection. The broader context helps teachers to make selections based on identified needs and ensure that they do not ignore conceptual progression.
