Dog-Man's Best Friend "A dog is a man's best friend." That common saying contains nothing but the truth. For many people, a dog is their best friend. Despite what some people may believe, dogs are excellent house-pets as they are good companions, they are civilized members of the house, and they are easy to care of. In the first place, I enjoy my dogs company. He is affectionate. He snuggle up and asks to be petted, or scratched under the chin. Who can resist a puffy haired doggie? If they're not feeling affectionate, dogs are generally quite playful. They love to chase balls, just about anything dangling from a string, or bones. They especially enjoy playing when their owners are participating in the game. Dogs can be trained. Using rewards and punishments, a dog can be trained to avoid unwanted behavior or perform tricks. In the second place, dogs are civilized members of the household. Unlike cats and other pets, dogs do not have bad odor as long as you maintain them clean. They generally lead a quiet existence, as long as they are not being bothered. Once trained, dogs don't often have "accidents." They normally get by the door, or begin to scratch the back door for you to let them out. They understand the concept and will do it regularly. If the dog begins to chew on socks, shoes, or anything they find, they must be disciplined. As long as you teach them, they will eventually learn not to even think about doing that. Lastly, one of the most attractive feature of dogs as house-pets is their ease of care. Dogs just need a simple walk, or a few minutes of ball play. They need to exercise in the house or outside by playing, running, or walking. Cleaning the mesa outside is a quick, painless procedure. You just take a little bag, a broom assigned for that purpose, and a dust pan. If it was inside it would be a pain since you would have to disinfect
