The bond is made by decades of rigorous training, politics, etc. thta make them different. In the Marines, recruit training is the genesis of the enduring sense of brotherhood that characterizes the Corps. New recruits are told they start that " A Marine Believes- in his God, in his Country, in his Corps, in his buddies and himself." All the events and obstacles that Marines go through is not done individually but with team work.
Honor is defined as honesty, fairness, or integrity to one’s beliefs. To me honor is being able to follow in my elder’s footsteps by being able to serve in the military and being able to actually fight and die for what I believe in. People also fought for their honor, fought for what they believed in. Today, as a marine, I get to fight for what I believe in. Also, marine NCO’s
The primary reason why Beowulf is courageous is because in one situation, or possibly in several; he stood up with his group and took the actions of a leader. The story states, “Beowulf arose, with his men around him, ordering a few to remain with their weapons, leading the others quickly (Pg. 44 lines 229 – 231).” This is important because he didn’t back down when it was time to fight. The secondary reason as to why Beowulf is courageous is because he’s never been afraid to overcome battles. The story states, “I’ve never known fear, as a youth I fought in endless battles.
Many Marines have given up their lives in order to protect one another and defeat the enemy. This story teaches today’s Marines how to fight like Marines as well as why this service holds so many honors. The never say die attitude of every man on that hill is proof why the Marines are America’s elite, because they can take every hardship that God and the world can throw at them and still never give up. The Marines in this book are the kind of fighters we should all try to be. Courage is one of the main traits than shows the most throughout this story.
The three Air Force Core Values reminds myself of the way I was raised and the morals my family instilled in my mind. When I look around and see the best Airman they all have the same thing in common, a hard work ethic and an adherence to the core values in both their work and personal life’s. Every good leader I have ever worked under has shown the characteristics of the best Airman I Previously mentioned, which makes you want to follow them. Being that one “Air force guy” on the team means it is my job to represent not only my career field but also the Air Force as a whole. Without the Integrity to tell my leaders that we cannot drop a bomb, or operate a certain way I will be nothing but a hindrance to myself and the team.
Briana Washington The constitution states clearly that “All men are created equal.” But during the Jim Crow law era black males were constantly persecuted, beaten, and constantly treated unfairly. This is how the writer Richard Wright grew up, but in his autobiography Black Boy we learn even though he went through hard times he eventually achieves success. Richard Wright was a very independent person; he stood out and stood alone. Throughout the entire book Richard never seemed to get emotionally attached to anyone. He learned at a very young age to become independent and do things on his own.
I think the narrator is a strong, proud, not easily influenced, and stoic. The many events and experiences when he was so young made him a strong person inside. In this narrative, Sherman Alexie argues the fact that just because people have looked down upon you and judged you your entire life based upon race; it does not mean you cannot do something important with your life. I think the author hopes to get this message across and inspire people of his own race and other races to succeed even though no support is offered. The first audience is the Native American population.
In retrospect I've been training all to be a Seal all my life physically. I've been playing football ever since I was 4 years old. Mentally a Seal has to have a mindset of never giving up. All my football experience has taught me that there are two ways to do something, the right way and again. Most importantly you have to have heart and never give up no matter how hard it's going to be.
As a United States soldier, I also have be trained that it takes hard work, motivation, and dedication to make your dreams come true. Gen. Powell once said “It takes personal hard work and dedication for you to become all that you can be”. On the base of my belief I find this statement to be so true. I've never depended on anyone and never wanted to. I set goals for myself and inspite of everything I've gone through, I've accomplished them and in some cases exceeded them.
Today there is a special branch of the military specifically designed to handle any condition and any foe without hesitation or remorse. This specialized branch is so effective and well equipped today because of who they were in the past. They were built based on some of the strongest principles, allowing them to rise against any quarry when one, willingly or not, defied them and their beloved country. The early advances of the U.S. military required a special branch to combine all of its power into a superior fighting force allowing them to fight in any country, design and revolutionize weaponry, and help to shape the New American government as it stands today. The United States Marine Corps has been able to influence the opinions of countless
