This appears to show that the party is mainly after Winston and don't care as much about catching Julia as a thought criminal. At this point the reader is drawn into the book and awaits the conclusion of this important meeting. Maybe the reader is even more exited than Winston and Julia because he has followed their every steps from the beginning and want to see Winston and Julia become heroes by destroying the party and maybe discovering who Big Brother actually is. For Winston this seems probably impossible but the reader knows that anything can happen in a book so he gets captivated and is waiting for the final decision of O'Brien. As always in Oceania the people are being manipulated and in this case they make Winston and Julia believe that the brotherhood exists and we can see that Winston gets tricked and is ready to anything the party wants.

When she went to Albuquerque, she met this gorgeous boy Adam, and knowing that he was bad news off the bat when she witnessed him dealing crank the previous day, she could not resist but to come up and talk to him when he noticed her. This diction at the beginning of the poem communicates the idea of temptation being strong and powerful. The speaker immediately opens the theme of dangerous desires in the first line by expressing her view that “everyone/ would like to learn” this song to lure the men in close to themselves (1-2). This line also represents an element of exaggeration because the sirens never left their cliff and so to claim that “everyone” has a desire to learn the song is a hyperbole (1). This shows the speakers attitude towards her lifestyle and that she is attempting to convey that she is indeed trapped away from everyone. Atwood also uses colons in the first stanza to represent that the poem in its entirety is a description and definition of the irresistible siren song.

During Fitzgerald’s path to achieve Zelda there were many struggles and hardships that only made him work harder to attempt to satisfy the needs of Zelda’s high living and her high expectations leading to her happiness. In the same case for Gatsby but only after losing the girl first to aim and try and win her over one more time’ “Can’t repeat the past why of coarse you can”(pg101). Gatsby said while it all attempted beginning with his illegal business to gain wealth to try ad impress the loving Daisy to fulfill his master plan. Both of these girls played huge roles and were the motivation for Gatsby and Fitzgerald to have gained the wealth they have received.

The Socs felt the need to be selfish by trying to take over the Greasers territory and show they were greater by getting into endless fights with the Greasers. In the song, "Part of me" by Katy Perry, she sings about keeping her pride, true identity, and dignity no matter what obstacles came in her way. This relates to who obstacles have came in the way of the Greasers due to the Socs and the endless fights they had created with the Greasers. The True State of Happiness Janie is a dreamer, her grandmother Nancy says, she lives her life trying to reach the horizon-- Janie’s very dear dreams. The society’s principles of how a woman should act, and its strict limits, prevent Janie from reaching the horizon; that one day seemed to be so close. The first two unfortunate marriages separate Janie from her dreams by limiting her strictly and blending her into the melting pot of society. Everyone in the pot is forced to follow the mass of others, thus living their lives without finding their individuality and discovering their life purpose and path. Janie’s first two husbands, Logan and Jody, never allow Janie to reach the desirable horizon.
Not only is a marriage fulfilling, but also it is sacred in God’s eyes, and God makes it very clear that He expects a marriage to last for as long as they both live. Today, many people see marriage as nothing more than dating or as a simple game you can end whenever they see fit. When they get bored with their spouse, they want a divorce so they can go and get a new spouse. The need for instant gratification overwhelms people into believe that the “grass is always greener on the other side”. Hollywood, further adds to the problem because celebrities seem to do this on a continuous basis by playing musical chairs with their partners.
