First off, advocates of the system have attempted to suppress the facts regarding the affordability of it, and convince the American public that universal health care will be “free” for everyone. This is far from the truth. Under universal health care, the cost will merely be placed upon each and every American through excessive taxation, whether healthy or sick, young or old. Essentially, one may not have needed medical attention the entire year, yet they would still have to pay the same price, through taxes, as someone who needed multiple operations and treatments. Spreading the burden to the entire population is unfair, especially when considering treatments that are required as a result of one making poor health decisions, such as: smoking, obesity, and drug use.
laterality issue much like amputation of the incorrect limb); I believe that this does deserve to be compensated accordingly and not be capped. Outrageous verdicts are undermining the healthcare system; causing malpractice to rise and leading to increase in physician charges to compensate for these charges. I truly do not believe that it should be an uneducated (medically) jury members making the decision as to price yet should be educated medical professionals along with a judge that makes such decision. A uniform federal cap of $250,000 dollars is definitely a start, but is not the answer to what troubles today’s healthcare system. It’s the initiation of Obamacare, erroneous lawsuits, and the pure lack of thought that comes from our congressmen as it relates to decisions from the Centers of Medicaid and Medicare that leads to our troublesome and futuristically failing healthcare system.
Consider the political and cultural difficulties that are in the way of making dying more humane, cost-worthy, and dignified. Now picture a new reality: widely available and socially acceptable killing of patients who are terminally ill. Why even mess with raising the taxes for insuring good hospice care for everyone? Why increase research dollars to find and develop more effective pain management? Why take the more difficult road to make the process of dying more humane when there is a shortcut that terminates the dying process itself? Financial pressures also may lead to incentives for active killing by putting a limit on funding for terminal care.
This government spending policy changed due to the change in government. Blair invested billions into education in order to maximise the benefits of education and grow economically as a result. The coalition government sought this to be a huge drain of the current economy; massively adding to the deficit and so dramatic cuts to this sector were introduced.
Some include the health care reform issues, his sense of an inhospitable business climate and the growth of government spending under Obama. Many fear that the U.S is leading into European ways, causing the American spirit to break. The $787 billion to stimulate the economy had no effect and caused no change in positive ways for the United States.
A Letter to the Editor It is Walter Cuffey's opinion that providing free housing and healthcare naturally would diminish people's desire to work for the government and pay their taxes, which in the long run would lead the country to bankruptcy. This contradicts Congressman Jesse Jackson Junior's opinion who believes it simply would create millions of jobs in the housing and health care industries and because of that generate a greater economic prosperity. I do not believe that the free housing Jackson mentions is meant to be expensive and luxurious. However, by free housing I imagine, he in point of fact means shelter, so that no-one in America have to live on the street. Once you have got a roof over your head, a solid base to return to,
The Affordable Care and Patient Protection Act, proposed by Barrack Obama, is a revolutionary plan to regulate health care. The plans allow for insurance coverage and protection for uninsured citizens. Most people have the misconception that the plans creates new insurance for people. The plan looks to cover tens of millions uninsured people. The plans, while looking to save money overall, will cause an increase in taxes of citizens (Obama Care).
Some of the cons of it would be if the United States went universal we would lose out on a lot of companies. Which I think is kind of selfish if you ask me. They are so scared that the government will be in charge. They feel like the government will have say so over everything. Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security are run by the government.
Prostitution should be legalized With the legalization of Prostitution thee industry will get taxed, leaving billions in revenue for the United States Government. If legalized the government would regulate it and would enforce strict health laws, these laws would prevent the spread of Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Less human violations would occur because there would not be any “pimps”, instead a fair industry where all sex workers receive the fair share. Prostitution should be legalized to tax for the services provided, improve the health requirements, and better the lives of sex workers by eliminating “Pimps”. Currently, prostitution is a dangerous occupation because it’s dangerous in the sense of medical and health issues for both the prostitutes and their customers.
In fact, ygoy.com shows that cigarette sales do create a very large amount of tax revenue. However, should America actually refuse to ban smoking in public places simply because of tax revenue? No. The International Debate Education Association argues that governments pay all or at least some of the cost of treating smoking-related diseases. Therefore, the government should have the right to discourage smoking.
