Determinants in Health American InterContinental University IP1 Marcia Hunter Discuss ways in which health can be conceptualized When it comes to the idea of the conceptualized of health in different parts of society it is surprisingly very similar among people. This can be proved through historical references, records and updated data provides by research and word of mouth. Take for example the US and its definition of health, there seems to be a shift in patient doctor relationship away from a paternalistic view to a gentler partner team based value. The meaning of health is simply a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity (Health, 2012). What are the determinants of health in humans. When there is a definition of health it is now time to find the outcome measures often in terms of determinants that each society believes to be a risk to health. Extensive research has to be completed to find health determinants and even then health policies must be developed to reflect these determinants of health. Research can be collected by different methods such as telephone, mail or face to face interviews. Usually the most used method of collecting research by companies is face to face interviews. These interviews are conducted mostly by using paper questionnaires instead of using laptop computers. Companies find this to be personable and reliable when paper form questionnaires are used. Certain guidelines must be followed such as standardized and training is used to help companies by collecting sound self-report data consistently across the interviews. Health determinants that are based on data from surveillance are collected by adult population surveys between individuals 18-64 years olds. Data will be limited to one individual of a randomly selected household to be interviewed. The
