In Health and Social Care I have studied a unit on communication and have learned a range of skills which would allow me to connect with service users in a way that they would feel able to open up to me. This would allow me to help that person resolve their problem. The reason why I feel passionate about this course is because I enjoy talking to a lot of people and having intense conversations where they can feel that they have someone to listen to them and get a chance to talk about their worries and concerns. I also enjoy helping others and giving advice, making people feel good about themselves and making sure they are heading in the right direction.

Only through authentic leadership will nurse managers and leadership be able to become the “glue” to hold together a healthy work environment under the stress of a constant change. The nurse leader will be faced with more difficulty in achieving positive and productive working relationships due to the more specialized practice roles or experts in the workplace. Typically experts are less likely to share information amongst one another, to help one another complete jobs, or to share resources. Listening to my academic advisor is essential because it benefits her and I. When she listened to the strengths and weaknesses that I have, it helps her to better find a way to help me. When I listen to her I get what I need to better improve myself in my studies. While listening to my daughter I get a better understanding of her as a person. This builds our relationship in tremendous ways because I can relate to her better and I know how to comfort her.
Because I have good mental health, I am able to enjoy school my life and the great people I have in it. I can also pay attention and learn things quickly and be creative. Having good mental health helps me stay focused and accomplish my goals in life. It is not only needed during high school but the duration of life. If I didn’t have such good mental health I wouldn’t be able to get over the hurt of losing a loved one, learn how to walk away from peer pressure or even forgive people.
