Bradley remembered his grandfather's words; ' Human beings, like plants, grow in the soil of acceptance, not in the atmosphere of rejection.' He struggled to understand why it was so difficult to find that soil to grow into. He has never been accepted and never felt like he belonged to something, and all he ever asked is 'why'. Bradley thought of his characteristics, would his beliefs, his appearance be the problem, or would he just have an unbearable personality. He was confused and couldn’t quite figure out why he was a twenty seven year old man with nothing to belong to. Without thinking he walked in an area with a really bad criminal reputation. Bradley crossed into a tiny street and he snapped back to reality and realized he had just walked 7 blocks across town into an area he had never ever been before. As he walked back along the road, he heard an unknown voice call his name. 'Bradley.' He assumed someone was calling to somebody else and kept walking. But the voice went louder and closer to him, until the mans voice screamed; 'Bradley, stop walking!' His heart was now beating twice as fast as he was not familiar with the voice. He finally turned around and saw a homeless man. With an emaciated face as white as snow. 'Sorry, but who are you?' Bradley asked with an uncertain voice. 'That doesn't matter, all that mattes is that I know how you feel, and you can call me Theo.' The man replied. 'Ok Theo, so what do you want from me? Cash, food, clothes?' Bradley muttered. This time he walked slowly. He was so confused. He recently spoke to a man who seemed to knew everything about the way he feels and he did not know anything about this man at all. He was actually listening to Theo, without knowing why. Maybe because he wanted someone to talk to, even though this was a complete stranger to him. He realized what he said was actually true, that maybe Bradley was his own worst enemy. Bradley turned around to look after Theo, but he was gone.
