The timekeeper will remind of ground rules. If the situation escalates session may need to be cut short and the person presenting their case will be given time to debrief and then taken to the tutor. How will the group training supervision be evaluated? After the first session we will evaluate and download evaluation sheet and then have an evaluation after the 4th, 8th and 12th week. It will be assumed that you have read the text and have some introductory knowledge of the work to be covered each lesson; failure to do so may affect your progress in class. Your teacher will then teach you the concepts and show you how to do the examples in the workbook thus ensuring you have exemplars when completing additional questions from the workbook and texts. Your teacher also has all the worked answers to the additional questions in this workbook and you must check your answers when you
Gravells (2011) suggests that the teacher’s role involves carrying out ‘initial assessments’, this is important for identifying the learner’s level of ability. The responsibility involved is referring learners to appropriate departments according to individual needs. In the writer’s work initial assessments are important in identifying risk factors which may impact on course participation. Participants complete health screening questionnaires three weeks before and on the day of the course, concerns are referred to occupational health department. An important boundary for this role is handling health screening information within parameters of confidentiality according to the Data Protection Act (1998) requirements.
Level 3 - 1.1 Summarise key aspects of legislation, regulatory requirements and codes of practice relating to own role and responsibilities As a tutor in the lifelong sector I have a responsibility to myself, my peers and my students to keep up to date with current legislations and codes of practice. In the first aid industry guidelines are changing every year as more information and research is being done. I need to keep up to date with the Resuscitation Council UK guidelines and the HSE first aid regulations 1981 and Ofqual. I also need to keep up to date my own First Aid at Work certificate. I can’t teach any subject that I am not thoroughly trained in and I must make sure my students understand the subject and are fully competent before I sign them off.

Session 1: Introduction to Backward Design Application A New Approach In 1–2 pages, compare and contrast your approach to instructional design with the UbD approach. Include the answers to the following questions: How are they similar? How are they different? What questions do you have about UbD that you hope get answered by the time you complete this course? Utilizing the approach of backward design when planning instruction involves the teacher identifying what the student should be able to understand and achieve by the end of the unit and then purposefully working backwards to scaffold instruction allowing for opportunities to deepen the understanding and depth of knowledge achieved (Wiggins & McTighe, 2006, p. 13).
According to Wilson (2009), roles describe functions of teachers. These could include: planning and preparation for the running of the class; designing different and interesting ways to deliver the lesson; assessing (evaluating) the impact of the learning and whether it has been transferred to the learner; maintaining a safe teaching/learning environment; marking the work of learners; giving constructive feedback; and record keeping. There is more detail on the types of records teachers need to maintain in the attached learning pack under ‘Teaching/training cycle’. As well as compliance with legislation and regulations i.e. Health and Safety and those of awarding bodies regarding standards of work or teaching (where there is no room for negotiation), ground rules can be created in a variety of ways i.e.
To do this, we must ask questions, explore, and assess what we know. I do consider myself as a constructivist teacher. Constructivist teaching is when we as teachers try to create a class in which the students and teachers are equal. This is very different from how a lot of classes are run today. Usually the teacher runs the class and students are to follow what the teacher is saying.
Danielle Carter 2/26/2015 Mrs.Carnes My teacher observation mainly consisted of classroom management, instructions given, and analyzing a lesson. An observation is something you watch that takes place when you take notes, and witness something happening. Classroom management refers to how a teacher gains and maintains student actions. Instructions are given when the children are handed an activity, or while they progress in an activity. Analyzing a lesson is observing what’s being taught, introduced, received by kids, and used to teach the lesson.
A well run classroom provides the environment for teacher and student learning. There are many strategies that can be incorporated into the classroom management plan to ensure that learning is taking place for all students. The educator must decide what strategies will work for their diverse classroom and plan ahead to include these strategies and communicate the expectations to the students. Harry Wong's Pragmatic Classroom Classroom procedures and routines assist in providing a classroom environment that is safe, predictable, and well run. Procedures and routines must be communicated to the students on the first day of school to ensure success of this classroom management strategy.
