We also are often discriminated in public places. Muslims nowadays are afraid to say they’re Muslims because of all the hate they will get. I myself was bullied, and one term they used was for me blowing up buildings and me being a terrorist. Just like how the blacks were discriminated, it is our turn in the 21st century. The media blamed us for the 9/11 attacks, yet it wasn’t us.
Saying that he does not deserve this is as if almost to say he did not exist. Hitler deserves his reputation without a doubt, even though Hitler’s reputation is a horrible one, why can’t Alexander receive his, much more it is not a negative one, one that killed a mass of people. Now maybe Alexander did kill many people in his time of reign, but most of those kills were because of war. Hitler’s reason was for an evil hatred of the Jewish community. I think that the idea that he does not deserve his reputation is solely for argument, because some people love the feeling of making other people angry.
He says that “with Tet, the Government of Vietnam had won a major battle for the hearts and minds of the South Vietnamese” which is a statement I find to be criminally wrong, not only because of the reasons pre-mentioned but because he has hindsight. This was clearly the point that swung the pendulum in favour of the North Vietnamese Communists. It showed the people of the South that these people were prepared to die in the open for their cause, that they would attempt a suicide mission in order to convey their point. This is what I believe not only scared the South Vietnamese but what made them question the Americans, and their own Government. To find an example of this I would perhaps look to the way in which the communist regime engulfed all of Vietnam within eighteen months of American forces leaving, it perhaps begs the thought that some of the South Vietnamese had already accepted and embraced communism.
Or like I’ll give away that I don’t deserve anyone’s gratitude and really they should all hate me for what I’ve done but everyone loves me for it and it’s driving me crazy” (Powers, 143). What makes this so powerful, is the fact that Bartle, the narrator of the book, feels like a monster, feels like a murderer, while the outside world views him as a hero; an image he believes is wrongfully painted upon soldiers who have killed and done injustice to humanity. While one can argue that the war was one huge injustice to humanity, the reasons why we started the war were to fix even greater
Many people like to believe the cause of World War I was the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. Although that did trigger the war, it did not start the up rising problems. War doesn’t just happen over night; there were problems long before Franz Ferdinand died. Problems such as militarism, alliances, nationalism, imperialism, and then the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. Militarism led to problems because every country had confidence that its new technological weaponry and troop count could defeat any other country, which led to a severe lack of negotiations.
He was found and killed in Pakistan. Although he’s been living in his compound, which is next to a military base, for a while, the Pakistanian government denies knowing that he has been resideing there at all. The compound he was found in was a very beat down and perfect for blending in. He also had multiple wives and after he was killed, one of his wives’ passports was found. What sparked this “manhunt” was the 9/11 attacks but this war effort has also caused a political uproar in Afghanistan as well.
Causes of WW 11 Who, or what was to blame in causing WW 11? The Versailles Treaties have been blamed for fillnig the Germans with bitterness and the desire for revenge. The League of Nations has been for failing to secure general disarmament and collective security. The Great Depression has been mentioned because without it Hitler would never have come to power. While these factors created tension, something more was needed to create the war.
There are no clear similarities between different types of terrorists and they are certainly not all empowered by political reasons. At one point, due to the infamous September 11 terrorist attacks that left the modern world reeling with shock and gripped by anxiety, many people had the stereotype that a terrorist would have brown skin and follow the Islamic faith. The many bombings by Islamic groups in the recent decade has led to stereotype becoming more negative and further solidifies the stigma that the word carries. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) defines terrorism as “the unlawful use of force and
What the hell do you think I was thinking of, the goddamn business? Is that as far as your mind can see, the business?” (2.557). It’s apparent that Chris has very opposite ethical views than his father, who will do anything for himself and his family. Joe blames the deaths of the pilots on his coworker because he would go to prison and his business would be destroyed, leaving his family with nothing. He tries convincing Chris to see the way he sees when he tells him, “You lay forty years into a business and they knock you out in five minutes, what could I do, let them take forty years, let them take my life away?” (2.542).
However, terrorists can argue that their methods are ethical and just to right wrongs due to political and social injustices. For instance; when people have been stripped of their rights or land, resorting to terrorism could be the only effective means to bring change. Many nations live in hunger or poverty—particularly the Third World countries—and see few options other than violent acts of terrorism to get the attention of the media in hopes of making their world better. After the attacks of September 11, Osama bin Laden, founder of Al-Queda, felt that the land of his people is being stripped by oppressive U.S. military forces simply by occupying the holy lands of
