The many different cultures provide a rich diversity. The many opportunities one can pursue. The lights, the glitz, the glamour, the weather, all of these are what make California, California. Than there are the hardships, the violence, the crime, the economy, soaring gas prices, the action hero governor. These characteristics of California can steer away people from going to California, but it is these characteristics that in fact, make it that much more of an idealized paradox to live
Essay 2 There are many differences between living in Florida and in Missouri, which can be both good and bad. Those include the average climate, cost of living, and the many different cultures. For similarities; there are jobs in both places, as well as different attractions to visit, both historical and fun. Florida’s weather is almost warm year round. Its wintertime temperatures rarely ever get below freezing, which is great for living near beaches year-round.

You will find nice neighborhoods with good people. Everything is always maintained and the people here are just so nice no matter what. You will find malls, convenient stores, and little stores all around the area. Something that is a major attraction to this area is that it is only an hour and a half from Yosemite National Park. All around Clovis there are lakes, mountains, and country.
The city of Los Angeles covers an area of 469 square miles which is home to an estimate of 3,819,702 people as of 2011. For this much area for this population, 7,544 per square mile, Los Angeles’ population density is considered to be much higher than state and national average. Los Angeles is not very far away from the Mexico/California border, which contributes to the continuous growth of the population. Not only people from different countries, but also from the different states of the US migrate to this city, wanting a better life for themselves and their families. The area is also occupied by a vast collection of different types of commercial and housing buildings (high-rises, factories, apartment buildings, houses, malls).
But there are other industries that have thrived in California. Some of the big economic industries in California are: technology, entertainment, Agriculture and aerospace. All of these industries have brought tremendous wealth. California going forward probably has a great future ahead of it but it also has a lot of problems. The problems are that the politics of the state are rough right now in California because so many people expect so many different things from the state government.
This replaced the older image of miners in the 1800’s scooping out handfuls of gold with little effort. Its emotional appeal seems to lie in its ability to deliver on a promise of “success, warmth, sunshine and beauty, health and long life, freedom …” (pg 23). From early times, California was seen as a Mecca of sorts for people from the snow-bound East and Midwest. One Midwestern newcomer wrote in the 30’s “I’d get letters from friends that had settled here … I’d hear about the orange groves and palms … sunny days and cool nights and how the only snow you saw was miles off in the mountains – well I was sick of the prairie landscape and stoking the fire all winter and frying all summer and the first chance I got, I boarded a train to find out if this country came up to brag.” (pg 23). This man was one of millions of people who almost literally saw California as a separate country, one that could put an end to whatever it was that troubled them.
Maui is gorgeous and my favorite out of all the Hawaiian Islands. Maui is like a combination of all the islands: tropical and into nature, and also modern. Hawaii has many great wildlife habitats and scenery. Not only are Hawaii’s land attractions stunning, but it is known for its fabulous beaches. Hawaiians live a simple life and have a very unique culture.
